[Darrell Jackson]
Wide receiver Darell Jackson has agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos, pending a physical. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Jackson will compete with Keary Colbert for the #2 wide receiver position (and likely win it). He’s the third free agent WR the Broncos have signed this offseason.

Great news.  Now there’s virtually no chance a WR is drafted before the 4th round.

This all but locks up Tackles (on both sides of the ball) are #1 priority in the Draft. All other need positions seem to have been addressed in some way this off-season.

That said, no one will be surprised when we get a great steal in the later rounds on a RB and/or WR. :)

I still wouldn’t be shocked to see us take a wide receiver at #2, but this does lower the likelihood.

I would be shocked if we did that actually. Hell, I’d be pissed. OT and DT in the first two rounds for me. :)

Is that what the Broncos need in a WR a guy who couldn’t catch a friggin cold? There are reasons why Seattle traded him to SF. Granted he was a salary cap casulaty but they kept that ingrate Leile over him.

I stated in my last comment that i liked him as our number 2 guy but Dan you are right. This guy has been given many chances and has always seemed to find a way to disappoint. Here comes another chance though Jackson…..don’t screw it up!

a couple of thousand yard seasons, and those 10 TD years sound pretty darn good to me for a number two or three guy, I still think people are sleepin on Colbert and that he could stay #2.

What this looks like to me is the beginning of a change in philosophy. It looks like we are going to support Cutler with some good WR’s this year and go from a team that uses the run to open up the pass, to a team that uses the pass to open up the run.

Maybe not, but it sure is looking more and more like it.
