[Dewayne Robertson]

Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting that the long, long, long negotiated trade for Jets defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson is finally a done deal. Reported compensation is an undisclosed 2009 conditional draft pick or picks

Finally, this is behind us. I’m really interested to hear what the picks are exactly.

i like this deal, and i like it even more if it is for a conditional 2009 pick and not a 2008 pick. that is great. glad this deal is done, now we can go different directions in the first couple rounds.

I think this is a great move by the Broncos. I post on the prosportsdaily forums, and all the Jets fans say he can become a beast in the 4-3 defense. I really hope this is true, as we can always use another great DT to put next to Marcus Thomas.

News! Good, I’m glad we got a decent guy to fill in at tackle. I still hope we bring in an upstart in the draft though, but we wouldn’t have to get a first rounder now.

The RMN is reporting that we are giving up one pick this year, and one next year, not both next year.

Any idea who is right?

Sounds like Legwold isn’t even sure. I think we’ll just have to wait and find out.

Kyle, I think we need some new Robertson stock photos. Maybe something a little less squirrel cheekish!

It really seems like, with everyone that they’ve brought in, that the Broncos have set themselves up to follow the philosophy of taking the best available player. So there goes my mock draft! Except for that one hole on the left side of the o-line…

I saw that we might give up a second round if he lives up to all the parts of the conditions. That sounds like a lot but i look at it this way, if we do end up giving up a 2nd rounder then he would have been really, really good.

Right so this move has completely changed the draft strategy. I’m surprised they did it now, I’d have thought they’d have waited till after round 2. If the Broncos go with history and don’t pick an OT early then anything could happen in the first round. I’m guessing Wide Receiver or Running Back.
