    What I don’t get is that you smoke pot and get a year long ban and probably get thrown off the team. You get arrested for DUI and you get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again. I know it’s not been proven yet and he’s innocent until proven guilty but are the two reactions in proportion?

    Does this new NFL code of conduct have anything in it to suspend players if / when convicted of something like this?

    The personal conduct policy is vague to say the least. It’s basically at Roger Goodell’s discretion.

    For instance, Jared Allen was charged twice with DUI in the offseason, and received a four-game suspension. His suspension was dropped to two games.

    With Marshall’s previous history, although those charges were dropped, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him hit with a 2 game charge or something of that matter. But I’d expect it come once the season is over.
