San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman was taken into custody at 3:35 a.m. PDT Sunday morning after he reportedly “choked and physically restrained” reality TV star Tila “Tequila” Nguyen. According to the report, Merriman was charged with battery and false imprisonment and remained in custody Sunday morning. Nguyen was taken to Pomerado Hospital for treatment.

The jury has ruled on Brandon Marshall‘s misdemeanor battery case, finding the Denver Broncos wide receiver not guilty for charges stemming from a March 2008 incident between Marshall and his ex-girlfriend Rasheedah Watley.
