The Denver Broncos‘ top brass — Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway, General Manager Brian Xanders and Head Coach John Fox — were all in Stillwater, Okla., scouting Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden when they decided to add another passenger for their trip home. That passenger? Free agent quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning, Elway, [...]

For today’s Daily Links, I visited the local newspaper websites covering several different teams said to be pursuing Peyton Manning to get the local pulse of the action. Miami Dolphins — Manning is in south Florida, and the Dolphins are ready to spend. [Miami Herald] Arizona Cardinals — “Kurt Warner brought us to the Super [...]

On Tuesday afternoon, news broke that the Indianapolis Colts would be releasing quarterback Peyton Manning on Wednesday. Of course, the news wasn’t really “Breaking news” because everybody knew that the Colts would part ways with Manning before having to pay him the $28 million they owed him if he was still on the team on [...]

If you take John Fox‘s word for it (remember that he is an NFL head coach, and they, well, lie from time to time), Brady Quinn‘s comments in GQ did not affect his chances of returning to the team. [Twitter] More nuggets from Fox’s Q&A at the combine on Andrew Mason’s Twitter feed. [Twitter] More [...]

Much was made about Tebow’s ability to complete passes in 2011, not much was made about the Broncos receivers’ ability to catch them.
Overheard once in a Denver press box in regards to Tebow’s unique throwing style and the ability to hang on to said ball, “Have you ever caught a knuckleball?” Touché anonymous man, touché.

[Denver Post] “It’s very complimentary to this organization [...]

The possibility that the Denver Broncos will be hiring a new defensive coordinator for the seventh consecutive offseason just became very real. The St. Louis Rams will interview Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen for their head coach opening this week, NFL.com’s Michael Lombardi reports. The Rams have been heavily courting Jeff Fisher, who is left [...]

Tim Tebow‘s ability to reinvent himself at the end of football games is well documented at this point. Whether it was a 15-yard furious comeback against the Miami Dolphins in the final three minutes of a near shutout or a 95-yard game-winning drive in the game’s final minutes against the New York Jets, Tebow has [...]

“Miracle in Miami,” Sunday’s game is being heralded. But did religion — or even Tim Tebow — have as much to do with the comeback as people are saying? [ESPN] Tebow could be the modern sports world’s King Pyrrhus, if the media lets him. [Mile High Report] And it all defies logic. Simply defies logic. [...]

Miller has been nominated for Rookie of the Week and Tebow has been nominated for the GMC Never Say Never award for their respective performances in Week Seven.
