Peyton-Manning

Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE

With such an evenly matched game coming up, I began to wonder who the experts thought might win on Monday night and also where the money was being bet in Vegas. It was interesting to see that the consensus straight up picks were largely in favor of the Atlanta Falcons defeating the Denver Broncos. Here is a small sample of what I found:

So the total tally of the so-called experts end up in the Falcons favor with 22 picks to the Broncos 11. Ironically, these websites included “user picks” and the Broncos nabbed both of those. The spread is -3.5 in the favor of Atlanta, so one should expect most of the picks against the spread to match the experts, right?  Wrong…so those with some skin in the game are betting the Broncos hard. So either the Broncos lose a close game, the experts are stupid, or a whole lot of people lose their paychecks. I hope its the second option! Take a look:

The one certainty I have is that this should be a great game. As good as the Falcons are at home, I like the Broncos chances in this one. A loss won’t kill the season and its against a non-conference team, so really the Broncos do not have much to lose; however a win would be absolutely huge in terms of confidence and expectations. Is it Monday yet?

GO BRONCOS!

Everyone needs to remember that Vegas odds are designed to even betting and make money for the casino. It’s a barometer of public opinion

I had absolutely nothing against the falcons until I came across their fans online. I would like to copy and paste their egotistical comments and shove it back at their faces after the game. Just because the falcons got a little good they think they own the NFL. It’s okay though, I’ll turn it my advantage because I actually make money off of egotism. Thank you falcon freaks for the money I’m about to win.

Winner or wiener.. Good luck to both of our teams. Don’t let fanduim take place in logic. both teams are stacked.. Watching one of our teams become 2-0 would be better

  • BroncosWin

know what i think? Broncos will win.

Peyton Manning this, Peyton Manning that, “hey how about those Denver Mannings?”

Although I love our new off season acquisition, I think the key to winning this game really comes down to how many points the D can hold the falcons dynamic offensive attack to!

We need to create LOTS of pressure and disrupt Ryan’s rythme right out of the gate. I believe if we can shake him up and get in his head early we should have no problem winning this one in the end.

Final score: Broncos 37 Falcons 31

I think Peyton has a better chance of eating the clock than Matt. It may come down to that. A lot of people are predicting a high scoring game but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not. It’s going to come down to the better defense. We both have an offense that scores.

  • BroncosWin

    yes indeed

  • Speer999

I agree with everything except the score, I think it’s just a little lower. If we get in Ryan’s head early he will lose confidence in the no huddle situation, and Peyton may eat the clock.

  • BroncosWin

    Go troll somewhere else!

  • BroncosWin

    yes good point

  • Speer999

Let’s not forget that Peyton has a good record against the falcons. He picks their defense apart, royally. Who played against a better defense last game? Do the Steelers or Chiefs have the better defense?

Anyone feeling super bowl repeat? 34-19 Denver?
:-) will be just like Pittsburgh. Give and take game until the 4th then Denver runs away with it. Literally running the ball to kill time and they just can’t stop Mcgehee and the Denver rush and we put another touchdown in with minutes left

  • Steve

Screen pass to jacquizz , deep to juilo and micheal turner up the middle

  • Steve

Let’s not forget tony Gonzales and roddy white and it’s at home.. ( no huddle is obivious for denver)The chiefs looked better than the steelers defense until the half

  • Tim Lynch

Yeah, the Broncos are fielding scrubs. :P

I think the D will stick to a less then 20 points aloud average this season, if they improve on 3rd down.

    Falcons win

Analysts have been raving about the Foul. They played KC…seriously? Broncs by 17…..
