In one week, the Denver Broncos will kickoff the 2012 preseason when the team travels to Chicago to take on the Bears on August 9th.  Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (MT).

The game, broadcast on KTVD-TV Ch. 20, will mark Jay Cutler‘s second preseason game against Denver and Peyton Manning‘s first game as a Bronco, though neither quarterback is expected to play more than a series or so.  For out-of-town fans, all of Denver’s preseason games can be viewed online for $19.99 with Preseason Live.

Before traveling to Chicago, the Broncos will hold a team scrimmage at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Saturday (Aug. 4).  Admission and parking are free and the gates open at 3:30 p.m. — the scrimmage is scheduled to begin at 3:50 Saturday afternoon.

Unfortunately, the scrimmage will not be televised or streamed online, according to BroncoTV’s Chris Hall.  Per Hall, lack of required technology and man-power would make it impossible to stream the event online.

Kyle will be at the scrimmage however, providing coverage here as well as on our Twitter and Facebook pages.  Kyle is also covering Denver’s practice sessions today and tomorrow leading up to the scrimmage.

After the team’s scrimmage, the league’s 2012 preseason will officially kickoff when the Arizona Cardinals take on the New Orleans Saints in the Hall of Fame Game this Sunday.  The game will be televised on NFL Network at 6 p.m (MT).

Two days until the Summer Scrimamge, seven days until preseason and thirty-eight days until the Broncos kickoff the regular season on Sunday Night Football.  Is it Thursday yet?

Football season can’t get here any sooner; especially with the Rockies 25 games under .500. Even though it’s preseason I think a lot of the national media will be focused on how Manning will do in his first real series back from his neck injury. Sadly enough, I’m going to miss the first airing of the Broncos preseason opener, but I scheduled a recording on my new Dish Hopper next week so I don’t miss the excitement. With up to 2,000 hours of recording space I have no reason to stay up-to-date on any Broncos news. Some of my coworkers at Dish are huge Broncos fan and every Denver fan is ready for some football!

This Dish commercial brought to by Max Power…unfortunately it contains more football than the average post last year with a certain other QB at the helm. Sadly Max didn’t include the iPad app message he usually has in his posts….
