The Broncos versatile fullback, Spencer Larsen, has signed with the New England Patriots.

Larsen is now reunited with New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

This report is per Greg A. Bedard.

Was close, now the Patriots and FB/LB Spencer Larsen have agreed on a two-year deal, a league source said.

Larsen has been a special teams ace, a great blocking fullback, and even started a game at linebacker his rookie year. He quickly gained the support of the fans with big hits on special teams plays like this one.

Good luck in New England, Spencer. Bronco Nation will miss you.

what the hell.why do the broncos loose all thier good players.this is ben going on for years.what the broncos job is to supply the nfl with good football players.bs.

Sucks. I love Larsen, he could do everything. And the few times he got the ball he made something out of it. I have no doubt New England will utilize him to his full potential!

damn it! that’s one player I will miss

Foxy was not a fan of Larson, he saw the writing on the wall and went to a team that will use his skills.

Not many free agent FB out there maybe Ahmad Hall or Jacob Hester? or maybe we’ll draft one late like Cody Johnson from Texas or Chad Diehl out of clemson who we could get with one of our sevenths.

You spoke to Fox about it? Wow! That’s cool…

Actually, Fox has traditionally used FB’s more than anyone else but with our offense now being Manning-led, there is no need for a fullback when a tight end like Virgil Green could do just as good of a job the one-two times they will use eye-formations in a game (saving a roster spot).

I don’t see them adding another fullback. If they want one, Austin Sylvester is still on the roster (though I do love Hester).

I love how you are always so positive and optimistic, Hope.

are you a maroon? just askin.

I don’t consider myself one, but perhaps I am.

Do you think before you comment? Just asking.

Jon rocks man. He pumps out quality content here like nobody’s business. Don’t chase him away or I will find you!

  • 436852

    I thought I did, maybe I don’t.

    Maybe you are.

  • 436852

Hey, he was out-a-line and deserved it.

  • CJ

I thought we don’t have a seventh rounder

  • Man_one

    Haha

    Agreed

    We don’t. 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6.

Our fifth went to Cleveland for Brady Quinn and our sixth went to Philly for Joe Mays. Our seventh obvisouly went to the Jets for Tebow. New fourth came via Jets, fifth came from St. Louis from the Lloyd trade.

One of our 7th’s? We currently have no 7th rounders…

But we had one last year! And his name is Virgil Green and he was used in the I formation as a blocker like mentioned earlier. I loved Larsen too but we are going a different direction and could use the roster spot.

And also mentioned Sylvester, if he makes the team this year….

Ahem, it’s “Foxy” apparently. You know, because they are good old chums.

Sorry if I offended you, 436852. It’s all in good fun.

I just don’t like when fans speak for the coaches and front office, as if they know what they are thinking.

I will miss Larsen.  There was a time, when we drafted Moreno, that I thought we’d be the 72′ Dolphins.

With Hillis and Larsen, I hoped we had Larry Csonka and Jim Kiick.
One would hit you, and the other would punish you.

Of course, Moreno hasn’t turned into Mercury Morris . . . yet.

    Two are gone . . . and a work in progress . . .

  • Tom9798

I’m hoping that Moreno can fill Royal’s place.  I know it’s a reach.

Become an effective slot receiver, and return k.o.’s and punts.

Just an idea . . . course you can’t run to the sideline always.
