Von Miller won’t be getting his wish.

Mario Williams, the NFL’s top defensive free agent, has agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills, ESPN reports. The six-year contract is widely expected to be the most lucrative deal for a defensive player in NFL history.

Did the Broncos blow it? There were some rumors that the Denver Broncos were waiting on Peyton Manning before trying to lure Williams into town, but we never heard anything solid on that front. It’s very possibly the Broncos were content with their current pass rushing duo of Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller and didn’t feel the need to pursue the high-priced Williams.

Guess Von Miller can expect a paycheck this year after all.

I question whether we we’re even in any kind of real negotiation with Williams.  Can’t say that Williams shy’s away from a challenge though.  Too bad it seems he’s not really interested in more than a challenge or money however.  This could possibly have been the anchor to the best front seven in the NFL this season. Oh well, next!

Thank the Lord!  Now maybe we can get to the business of rebuilding the team through the draft and plugging holes with mid-tier free agents…you know like the successful teams do instead of the Redskins and Raiders.

Well looks like they are not going to do anything till PM decides what he wants to do.  Hope its not too late to pick up some help.  Building through the draft is good but you need to use the salary cap wisely and pick up veterans for the holes in this team.  Hope they didn’t wait too long.

I’m not sure Mario would have been a wise choice to bring in considering what we currently have and his horrible injury history but it certainly seems like EFX didn’t explore the option enough.

Royal is a hell of a football player, why aren’t we doing a bit more to retain him? We obviously aren’t spending all our extra money anywhere else.

Yea apparently our plan is to just pray Peyton signs and if not roll our 42 million over to next year. Seriously can we please get Bunkley resigned and possibly add a few players!?!? wtf

Royal wants the ball more. He isn’t going to get it enough with Tebow as the QB. Remember he wanted to be traded last year too. He just didn’t cause problem in the locker room like the one we did trade because he is actually a team player. I also think the redskins deal fell through because he wants to stay in Denver… if we have a pass first QB!

I agree that Mario was not worth the money to bring in. We already over paid Doom and we have Von Miller.

Are the Broncos working on anything other than Manning?….this is getting pretty frustrating.

Horrible injury history? He missed 3 games prior to last season when he tore his pectoral.

He was banged up pretty good in 2009 which is a big part of why his production dropped. In 2010 the nagging injuries seemed to get worse and he missed 3 games. Last year he had a major injury.

He may only be 27 but he is a huge body that plays one of the most physically demanding positions and it seems as though he is wearing down.

Great player money for a very good player. I can’t wait for the day that we can sit back (ala GB, NE, PT, etc.) and watch all these teams throw their money away into the well! Hit in the draft and it can happen rather quickly.

go ahead & give PM the 25million a year he think he deserves we fucked up the chance 2 add free agents that could help us ( Mario Williams ) PM only cares bout money that’s why he hasn’t eliminated any teams & will consider seeing more team, Tebow might b a better QB but he is definitely more cares more about the broncos then PM ever will.

  • Thomasharris54

Tebow might not b as gd a QB

Mario Williams could still be a very good, or great player, if he’s healthy.  For that much money considering he’s been hurt the last 2 years he’s definitely not worth the gamble though!  I don’t see Buffalo being a Super Bowl contender due to getting him.  Shit, they haven’t even made the playoff in like a decade!  Although Manning will be paid a lot too, he’s worth the gamble because the reward could be so much higher than getting a Mario Williams.
