John Bohn, Boston Globe, 2005

CBS wins. The Week 15 game between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots will not be flexed. No Tim Tebow vs. Tom Brady in primetime.

Kickoff remains at 2:15 p.m. MT on Sunday, December 18 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

That’s a shame since this team has proven against the Jets that they’re ready for Prime-time. Can’t blame CBS for not wanting to let go of this one though. Hope they do it justice by putting it in every available market that doesn’t require another game.

Dammit!  I’m going skiing on the 18th and really need this game to get flexed.  Come on NBC, show that wuss CBS who’s boss.

Also nice work on the Scheffler photo.  Makes me feel good seeing him get laid out by a DB!!

Actually a Jeb Putzier photo. Sorry I couldn’t oblige your schadenfreude!

Well I can still pretend that it’s Scheffler.  That’ll have to do.

Sad thing is that Scheffler wanted to stay a Bronco and has since expressed that sentiment to Denver media guys.
    Now on to the game…

I don’t blame CBS one bit for this. They got the ratings monster Broncos game pulled out from under them last week, and they were threatened to have it done again this week. Can’t blame a company for not wanting to lose it’s biggest draw 2 straight weeks. CBS, FOX, and NBC are all in the money making business, so CBS has a right to try to make money off the game(s) that they paid for and are counting on to generate revenues. They aren’t a charity, so there is really no reason for them to act like one.

Do the fans lose? I’m not sure. Yes, as fans, we want a “Primetime” game, but the fans who were going to watch the game are going to watch it no matter what. The people it really affects is the national audience, as I’m sure there are displaced Broncos fans, and Tebow fans that don’t have sunday ticket, which if this game was flexed, would be able to watch their team play, and now, they can’t (or have to go to sports bar to watch).

All I know is that I won’t look like garbage when I wake up monday after this game. If it were at night, all of Denver would be really hungover, but now, we can at least attempt to sober up and sleep it off before monday morning, so personally, I think everyone in Denver wins, even though the national audience lose. But hey, they aren’t paying our stadium tax, so they can bite me ;) haha

Hey NBC, just make sure you get the play off rematch :)

over the last 10 years we generally play like crap in prime time.

Great news for the Pats and their fans. Now they won’t have to worry about the whole nation watching them get whooped.

This is ridiculous. Robert Kraft complains and the Commissioner budges. Another weak moment for the NFL front office.
