  • Boy, we could get used to this.  Broncos’ quarterback Tim Tebow and rookie linebacker Von Miller have again been nominated for weekly awards on NFL.com.  Tebow for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the week and Miller for Rookie of the Week.  Vote for Tebow here and Miller here.  [NFL.com]
  • It sounds like Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson will not be able to play on Thursday when Denver hosts New York for the second consecutive year.  [@benshpige]
  • Meanwhile, if Jets receivers Jeremy Kerley and Patrick Turner are not able to play after missing practice Tuesday, former Broncos receiver Eron Riley will become the Jets’ #3 receiver.  [Jets Injury Report]
  • Broncos running back Willis McGahee is “iffy” to play Thursday after not participating in individual drills in the portion of the Broncos practice that was open to the media Tuesday.  [Denver Post]
  • ESPN’s First Take crew recently debated if Tebow is proving that he can be a starting quarterback in the NFL, watch the argument here.  [ESPN]
  • New York cornerback Darrell Revis is not sold on the Broncos option/run heavy offense, noting “we know what they’re doing. And we feel comfortable in our game plan.”  [New York Daily News]
  • Reporter Jeff Darlington spent Monday going over film with John Fox and came away with a great read which went live on NFL.com this morning.  Among the quotes we love: “Do whatever the hell it takes,” Fox laughed. “I mean, what the hell? You don’t get points for style in this league.”

I used to have a lot of respect for Carter as a player but as an “expert” he is really a glorified buffoon. And by the way the moron is talking about the playoffs. Playoffs? Before Tebow took over the Broncos fans were wondering if they were going to win another game! The truth of the matter is that Tebow should not be starting but sitting and developing but who were the Broncos going to play? They threw him to the fire and all he does is prove people wrong in every possible way. Don’t look now but with almost nothing around him Tebow has won as many games this year as Peyton Manning won all his first year as a starter.

People say that Tebow cannot throw the ball. If you do not believe me go look it up. His completion percentage and QB rating was better than John Elway’s their last 3 starting years coming out of college. He also run for 51 TD’s to John’s ZERO. Say what?

  • Lovethebroncos

Carter and some “experts” have been questioning Tebow’s drafting and criticizing his style of play. They say that he will never make it in the NFL because he is not an accurate passer. Really? Ladies and Gentlemen that is a bunch of ^&*&* crap. Let’s compare facts for a second: Here are the average passing stats for Tim Tebow’s and John Elway’s last three college years where both started every game:
Elway averaged 11 starts per season, 383 attempts, 241 completions, 62.4% passing ratio, 23 TD and 12 INT with a 141.1 average QB rating.
Tebow averaged 14 starts per season, 320 attempts, 220 completions, 66.53 passing ratio, 27 TD and 5 INT with a 169.7 average QB rating.
It looks that Tebow’s college accuracy stats are actually better than John Elway’s and anyone labeling the guy inaccurate and a future bust in the NFL for the sake of having something to blubber about, should tape their mouths and let history decide Tebow’s NFL career. Remember that we are talking about passing stats here so I left out the 18 rushing TD’s Tebow averaged per year to John’s 0!
Few of us remember that John’s first year with the Broncos on a personal level was nothing to write home about. In his rookie year, the 1983-84 season, John started 10 games and finished the year as the NFL’s 17th rated QB. He played in 11 games, starting 10 of them. He attempted only 259 passes and completed 123 of them (limited playbook someone said?) for a 47.5% ratio and 1663 yards with 7 TD and 14 INT. He averaged a very mediocre 151 yards passing per game and he finished the year with a pedestrian 54.9 QB rating. I am sure that a lot of Broncos fans were not very impressed with John in his first year and were actually thinking of drafting in 1984 the next  top “NFL ready Andrew Luck type” QB which by the way was:
    (anyone remembers?)
    Boomer Esiason!!!!!!!!   OUCH!
Leave the kid alone, close your ears so you do not have to listen to idiots like Carter and enjoy the ride. GO BRONCOS!

Sorry about that, Nisse.  I have no idea how that happened.  I fixed the link, here’s the article:  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d824253ac/article/smart-like-a-fox-broncos-coach-adapts-to-tebows-strengths?module=HP11_content_stream

Its getting really fun to watch Von-Doom for sure. I was so pulling for Marcell Dareus and while he is good Von is kicking some ass for sure!

    Interesting stats and nice research!

Here’s the deal.  This week is a big test.  No Dolphins stink, no “we caught the Raiders at the right time and no, “the chiefs have no offense”… OK?

The Jets are a darn good football team.  They’ve been in the AFC finals two years in a row.
This will be a truly bonified legitimate test for us.  No excuses for the team we’ll be playing.

If Denver wins, we are headed for “for real” status and maybe you can run the option in the pros.

If we lose, but stay close you have to give credit that things are progressing, but still a work in progress. (This is assuming we play resonably well).

If we get smoked, as in Detroit smoked, then it’s most likely onto 2012 and the QB of the future hunt begins.

    Can we agree on that?

  • Anonymous

I don’t believe we are “real”, I think we won more than we were going to.  The fact we are “in contention” is more of a statement about the state of our division than us being “real”.  Love this team but we are on full rebuild and let’s see what we got mode, it is a fluke that we are in contention right now.  I am basking in the glow of our wins now because it most likely won’t last. I’m not attacking Tebow, I am saying this team is not that good, they have shown a ton of heart but it is a work in progress.

College stats are pretty meaningless at this point.  How about we compare 2nd year stats rather than rookie stats.

  • Anonymous

College, who cares?  Tebow played on better college teams than Elway, conveniently forgot that didn’t you.  Elway played in a pro-style offense as opposed to the spread offense Tebow played at Florida.  Probably why Elway never ran for any TD’s

  • Lovethebroncos

College stats are not meaningless and show that in college Tebow could throw the ball as good or better than Elway. Completion percentage is the biggest reflection of accuracy. Esiason was the first QB taken in this draft regardless of the round and would have been the Broncos choise if they had given up on Elway. .

  • Lovethebroncos

What an idiotic comment. College who cares? I compared college stats you moron. If you do not care keep your thoughts to yourself. Tebow played in a 10 times harder conference as you conveniently forgot.

  • Anonymous

So what?  Are you so stupid that you cannot come to the conclusion that it was obvious you compared college stats and other than you nobody cares because they’re meaningless?  You compared meaningless college stats but ignorantly failed to compare anything else.  Does anyone besides you really care that Elway never had a rushing TD in college?  No moron they don’t care that a QB in a passing offense never ran for a TD.

  • Anonymous

Ignorant speculation and your WRONG, period.  Completion percentage tells you nothing about accuracy saying anything else is beyond ignorant.

  • Jdkchemisapieceofshit

The only ignorant moron in here is YOU! PERIOD! Now go fuck yourself!

  • Lovethebroncos

Easy there buddy. He is just not very smart, that’s all.

  • Jdkchemlikesdonkeydicks

Go suck a big dick you motherfucking piece of shit!

They allow pedophiles computer access in prison?

If you’re the benchmark for smart I’ll gladly stay where I’m at.  What kind of idiot even suggests that the Broncos were going to draft Esiason after Elway’s 1st year and the Broncos make the playoffs?  Furthermore what kind of idiot suggests that college stats have any meaning beyond college.  While you were masturbating over Tebow did you even bother to compare Tebow to Jamarcus Russell? Tim Couch? or Ryan Leaf?

    Tim Couch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Couch#Statistics
    Jamarcus Russell http://www.totalfootballstats.com/PlayerQB.asp?id=1203389
    Ryan Leaf http://www.totalfootballstats.com/PlayerQB.asp?id=2338

Are you smart enough to figure out college stats are meaningless now or are going to resort to playing sock puppet again?

  • Anonymous

The hunt for the QB of the future is already on.  The only question will it be 2012 or 2013 when the Broncos draft the QB of the future.

  • Anonymous

Did you think that up all by yourself?

  • Jdkchem

I was actually fucking your mother and I took a break to respond to you cocksucking asshole!

    Wow, that’s original.

  • Jdkchem

I am the biggest fucking moron on the face of this planet. I am a living proof that sports blogs are full of ridiculous idiots who know nothing about sports and just post shit to prove they are pure assholes.Â
