Sometimes a brutal loss leaves you in disgust of your team (see Oakland Raiders, 2010).

Sometimes a brutal loss leaves you in awe of your opponent. This one was a bit more of the latter.

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers put a number on the Denver Broncos Sunday. An early 3-0 lead by the Broncos quickly became a 21-3 rout in favor of Green Bay. The Broncos clawed back to 21-17 before haltime, but then Rodgers and the Pack took control and never looked back.

The Packers (4-0) won their 10th straight game including postseason with their 49-23 victory in Week 4 of NFL action. The Broncos fell to 1-3 with one game, a home battle against the San Diego Chargers, left before their bye.

It didn’t matter who started this game: Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow, Tom Brady — the Broncos were completely outmatched both in personnel and game plan. Dish out what you would’ve done differently in the comments.

  • Redna

Two horrible throws by Orton. About twenty good ones. About thirty bad plays on defense. Can Tebow play corner?

  • Gary

There won’t be any kind of change.  The head coach is a loser.  With a team with no depth, that spells for a long year.  Orton’s first pick came at a bad time.  Killed any hope they had of winning.  ‘

  • Paterade

I would have kept Perrish Cox and maybe drafted Patrick Peterson. This secondary is pretty bad once again. How many times do we have to watch this same story. Manning, Rivers, Brees, and now Rodgers. All just have field days when they play us.

  • http://Facebook.com/BroncosZone Jon

The secondary is really missing Champ Bailey. But you can’t pin it all on the defense, the offense needs to win the games, they can’t count on the defense to bail them out all the time.

I’m done with Knowshon Moreno. If Orton doesn’t win next week at home, I’m done with him, too.

Next offseason the Broncos need to focus on cornerback/defensive tackle/middle linebacker and then running back.

Lol you know what I’m So fed up watching our d play like they don’t care! We get scored on they walk off the field like ow well. I don’t know how many times they showed the sideline and champ has that look on his face like I’m glad I’m not out there! Only doom and Von to me put out true effort and Cassius vaughn……………ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! This was super embarissing and now I have to go to work and hear about it ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jay

LET THE EXCUSES FOR KYRE ORTON TO BEGIN…NOW!!! THE DEFENSE WAS BAD ,THE O LINE WAS BAD HE HAD HIS C**K IN THE WRONG CUP ANYTHING ELSE? NO? THE INTS WERENT HIS FAULT…. RIGHT,RIGHT!!!

MSG TO KO KEEP THROWING THE INTS BUD THERE IS A RECORD TO BE BROKEN

  • Anonymous

I’m so damn sick of “Not giving Orton a pass” but “Orton could have played better but” “Orton made his mistakes but” “Orton wasn’t clutch but” “Orton needs to step it up but”.

    UGH!

3 years of this bullcrap is too much. I’ve had it watching him fumble around and $#!@ up and people make excuses for him. So what if there are problems with the rest of the team.

You don’t hear people going, “Gee Lloyd should have played better but” or “Decker should have played better but” or “Von Miller should have played better but” every single week. Why? Because they just go out there and do there damn job. It’s obvious they are playmakers. Guess who is not a playmaker? ORTON!

The guy is like Tom Brady’s twin brother in Bizzaro world.

It just never stops with this guy and now he’s moved from killing us in the second half to just doing in right up front.

Call me when Fox is fired and anyone but Orton is taking snaps. Thank god we hired the only guy in the NFL with a worse record than McDaniels to fix this unimaginative ship.

Pat Peterson.. is super decent but Von Miller is such an animal.. i can only agree with the Cox part

  • Jay

Yawn,we lost no biggie 12 more loses to go…Kyle Orton to the HOF

  • areferee

Looking for a team in whom you can still believe and be proud?

    Well…

We still have the American Military…

  • Kellyleephipps

Oh I can just hear Orton now in the presser…”Well we just weren’t able to go out there and get it done.”  You say that crap every time and you just get worse and worse.  Give me Tebow..give me Quinn…give me Weber….anybody but Captain Collapsable!  It’s just sad…3 picks and three TDs put you back to even, you went out and did basically nothing toward your next contract…I will be glad to see him backing up a REAL QB next season on a team far, far, away…

  • Jfranklin

Orton does make a ton of mistakes, but this loss is definately not pinned on him. The thing i really took from this game is that you need to make a switch a QB cause he missed two easy touchdown passes to Lloyd where he was wide open (one by like 30 yards). He doesn’t have the arm strength and that is a real problem. Please move on from this clown.

  • Jay

It is never on Orton right? When he wins hes the man but when we lose its always somebody elses fault

  • Audi

49 points allowed and it is Orton’s fault?

  • Awesome, Austin

Hes had 4 games and a shorted off season to change this team….a little early to call for the coach’s head

  • Awesome, Austin

There would have been little to no pressure without Von…you can only get one top guy in the draft, unless you trade everything.

  • AtomicLeo

Cox is rapist and will be spending a lot of time in jail not playing in the NFL.

    Peterson’s stats 14 tackles, 1 INT, 0 fumbles
    Miller 12 tackles, 0 INT, 2 fumbles

  • AtomicLeo

Just shows how far Denver needs to improve at all positions. The one area of strength, defensive backs, the past 10 years is now a huge hole because of age an injuries.

Fine, let Tebow play. Let the fans see just how completely devoid of talent this team is at ALL positions.

Three years, folks. It’s going to take 3 years to fix the McDaniels drafts and the neglect from Shanahan.

  • AtomicLeo

It’s not that the defense doesn’t care. Outside of Doom, Miller and Moore, everyone else is either old, slow, hurt or just sucks. Doesn’t matter how much heart you have if you don’t have the talent to compete on the field.

I dunno I think RB is right up there with the rest… But your right No-Show is a total bust!!!

We do need all of the above though all as needed as the next…

  • Anonymous

Then maybe you shouldnt watch them… Its an option for you ya know!!!

  • Anonymous

Like it except the last paragraph… The isn’t a coach in the world that would be doing any better with what is there… PERIOD!

  • Anonymous

Actually, um ya part of them!

  • ArtM

    Dont forget the 4 sacks

  • Anonymous

I’ve never been a fan of Fox. I was really hoping he would reinvent himself with the Broncos but the guy has always been god awful stubborn when determining who he plays and how he runs the team.

Think how long he stuck with Jake at QB or even worse how long he insisted on starting Foster instead of Williams at RB.

Even now he is playing Haggan over Von Miller on some snaps just because “He is a veteran guy and has earned that”.

  • Broken bronco

We first need to remember what a horable first year John had. However the brass stuck with the decision and the rest is history. If we have no depth what a better time to weed out the loosers (Fox/Orton) and start fresh? And why did we pick Tebow? Come on people It’s time Elway makes a stanford
    no-brainer decision. Clean House!

  • VinceMarine

Like everyone else I’m tired of seeing Orton’s pathetic performances with sorry excuses from him and Fox after the game.  If he is our best chance to win then we shouldn’t be playing in the NFL.  The one good thing, he is playing himself out of Denver.

On another note, I’m tired of seeing Baily wearing sun glasses and enjoying the game from the sideline.  He needs to $hit or get of the pot cause Vaughn is worthless!  As a future HOF, Bailey probably doesn’t want to play on this terrible team.  He is going to have to play through his injuries like everyone else.

A positive from this game was that we are starting to run the ball better with McGhaee.  It was only a matter of time before he replaced Knoshown “I can’t stay on my feet” Moreno.  Also like the aggressivness of Harris when he came in at CB.  I would like to see what he can do.

  • Gbrider61

We are the Detroit Lions of old…better get used to it cause it’s going to talk years to clean up this mess….sad but true

  • Broken bronco

No it’s not! This is the big parade. He’s allready made too many bad choices. In my opinion.

    take years….oops

  • Robby

The Broncos do not possess the burning desire to win. They do not have the killer instinct that defense needs to stop runs or passes.  They do not have an offensive line they do not have a defensive line. They couldn’t stop a butterfly. Runners go through them like they are not even there.  I am tired of waiting until next year. Oh! They will be better next year. If you want to win, pay the money and buy the players. Get rid of Fox and Orton. Play your money man, your future Tebow, and if he’s no good get rid of him too. Play Quinn keep trying until you can find a quarterback who can win and pull the team together. Find out what is causing the, don’t give a shit attitude, among the players. They must be a team and support each other. They must be united in one cause….Winning!  It’s time to kick ass and take names!  Stop looking for the next Elway.  Find a uniting force in a coach or a quarterback and let’s start winning.  I am 57 and I can’t wait forever for next year for the Broncos to go to the Super Bowl, get in the playoffs, or a least have a winning season.

  • Jeff

Normally I would jump in on the bashing after a total  ass kicking like that but I seen something, some moments of flash, I seen potential on both sides of the ball, with emphasis on the Defensive side. Sure we got spanked, but at least we have something to look forward to. I think the team gets a little better with each passing week. If we could keep guys healthy things could be a lot different but it is what it is. I would be interested to see what Tebow has to offer up but we are still in this so maybe thats why Tebow hasn’t been called out and tested yet.

  • AtomicLeo

Desire doesn’t cut it in the NFL. Everyone on that field is competitive and wants to win. The Broncos have a serious lack of talent. This isn’t college ball, heart can not make up for the lack of talent. Want to know how far Denver is from a top 10 team? Watch this game over and over again. Very very far away.

  • AtomicLeo

My biggest disappointment today: Not seeing much improvement from week 3. The defense is better than last year, but we can’t even slow down one of the best QBs. Need a CB and more D-line men in next year’s draft.

  • crazykid

I feel like the Broncos weren’t actually THAT bad.  VonDoom was constantly harassing Rodgers, and he answered back showing why hes the best QB in the league, with 400 yards and 5 total TD’s.

We weren’t necessarily bad, the Packers were just too good…

  • just g

Exactly! Why won’t fox bench Orton when the games out of reach and give Quinn or Tebow some reps. If Orton is your starting quarterback don’t you have a obligation to save his health? Any way whos the new def coord. in our revolving door? Allen or something? He was clueless except for a couple of sacks. the Broncos were playing 10+ yards off most of the receivers and there tackling got even worse than last year. Who scores almost points on any in the NFLL. What a joke.

  • just g

What game were you watching? Are you kidding? Who lays 49 points on anybodys team. We suck period. We have to live with it for a while. Its not life and death. And Champ Bailey should have been traded or retired. He is chronically hamstrung or milking his so called injury after his new contract.

Out coached so bad it’s not even funny. Out played & out hustled. Never seen a Denver team this bad. I don’t see Fox playing TT until we’re eliminated in the division cuz that’s the old school way. We got us an old school coach in a new school game. ‘Fraid we’re stuck with this coach for 3-5 years…geesh

Okay, I just heard Al Michaels comment about the teams who PURGED last year, or cut/traded a large number of starters. Not that Seattle (who got rid of 11) is anything great, but that’s what is going to have to happen in the upcoming offseason. (Baltimore got rid of 8- doesn’t look like it hurt them.)This team is dealing with Shanahan’s bonus baby leftovers at the end of his time in Denver and the two year debacle caused by that piece of S**T McDaniels. And I mean piece of S**T.

John Fox will show what he’s made of not just by what he does the rest of this season, but by the moves he makes during this offseason. I’m not ready to pull the plug on him yet. Watching today’s underthrows to the Packers made me loathe Orton’s ability and wish for Tebow, Quinn, Bart Starr, anyone else but him.

I still love this team, though. Nothing short of a move to another town would make me disloyal. Go Broncos!!!

  • knowhere moreno

I got pro bowl tickets this year and was hoping for at least one bronco to be there! what the hell haha my only hope is von miller

You can thank Brian XANDERS for this team. He built it. You can blame McD if you want but XANDERS is the and was the “GM”. That means he builds the roster, hires the coach, picks up free agents, drafts, and manages the salary cap. XANDERS has been one of the worst GM’s in any sport. If you think Tebow is going to make this team better you are nuts! Moreno sucks. TE’s are horrible. Front seven has too many holes. Db’s don’t scare anyone. Special teams aint that special. O line can’t run block or pass block anymore. Head coach won 1 game last year and is looking to repeat. I can just imagine how bad the salary cap looks for 2012. I bet XANDERS will have to cut a few beer vendors to get under the cap next year.

  • Mike in the OC

First off let me say congrats. I know it was a tough game but the dream is still alive. It’s going to be a tough road but I know we can do it, it’s going to take hard work and discipline on your part but it can be reached.Just take it one game at a time and put your heart and soul in to it and we will reach our goal. It is within our reach if we keep our eyes on the prize. All it takes is one let down and all the hard work would be for not so keep your eyes on the prize and go get em boys Andrew Luck is waiting and so are we!! Good luck and gods speed!

  • Billy Bronco

can u say Tebow? Heisman? Winner? the future? get a clue people…and if u bronco fans don’t want him he’ll end up somewhere else and be a winner

  • Anonymous

We’ve learned at least two things;  Shanahan ignored the defense for too long and McDaniels can’t draft.  If you’ve paid attention to the Rams I question his ability as an offensive coordinator as well.

  • peterthegreat

Hey get a life! If you what you were taking about you would know McD had total control and made ALL FOOTBALL DECISIONS!!!!!!! They learned their lesson and made it a group decision and not one man with total control. So you blaming Xanders for this team, is like me blaming the greek for everyone getting hurt!
