    #$% U Hoge.  If Tim were to play FB, he would eclipse every record you ever thought about.  You are and were an overrated player in your day.  You couldn't hold a candle to the FB's of today and have no place giving any insight on the QB position.

    Merril Hoge and Craig James. Two people whose opinions I hold above nobody elses when it comes to football. His ties have more knowledge and understanding of the game than he ever will.

    I listened to the various points on Hoge's comments all day.  There are two things I think Hoge is seriously missing the point on:

    1.  When Favre came in to the league, everyone said he was inaccurate, couldn't perform in the pocket, and would never have success.  The same was said about Steve Young.  Just because Tebow plays the position differently doesn't mean he can't be successful.  It just means he'll achieve success using a different method than traditional QBs.

    2.  Tebow has started a total of three games in the NFL and went 1-2.  Isn't it a bit premature to say he'l never, ever have success in the league?  Maybe we should give the guy at least 10-12 consecutive starts to “develop” so that he has a chance to show what he can do instead of just making an ignorant statement like “he'll never be able to lead a team to a Superbowl.” 

    I'll tell you this – Tebow energizes that team.  He's a guy who plays like his hair is on fire and his drive to succeed is unmatched.  If the team can figure out a way to make that work to their advantage the team will do some amazing things.

    will starting tebow improve his accuracy? cuz he needs to be able to throw the ball accuratly before he starts.

    accuracy has to be the first thing you want in a QB.

    then there is alot of other stuff you want in him. but if a QB cant make the throw, it doesnt matter how good he reads the defense.

    and starting tebow wont make him a more accurate thrower.

    saying tebow will never be a good QB when he has just played 3 games is stupid. saying he needs alot of work on his accuracy isnt.

    if the bigest problem with tebows play would have been him not reading the defense correct, or not being able to handle the speed of the game. then sure, start him. cuz he would improve on those areas by starting and playing with the first team on practice.

    but his accurasy wont get any better than it would if he isnt starting.

    If I were Merril Hoge I'd be more worried about my spelling than Tim Tebow especially as he has a book coming out, I hope his ghost writer can spell better

    People who believe accuracy is the most important trait in a QB, are the same people who don't believe Elway was the greatest QB to ever play the game.  Making plays when your team needs you is the most important attribute a QB can have.  Steve Deberg was more accurate and more prepared than Elway was early in his career, but Elway got the starts, made his mistakes, and went on to be the greatest ever, not the most accurate.  KO is more accurate and more comfortable in the offense right now than TT, but in the three starts TT made last year he showed more ability and made more clutch plays than KO did all year.  I don't hate Orton and was never a Tebow fan when he was in college, but after watching both QB's play last season, it's a no-brainer to go with Tebow over Orton.

    So you are saying that throwing more balls in a game situation would NOT help improve his accuracy….ummm, hmmmm…interesting point of view.  I guess I will try that when I coach the kids and see if less reps makes them more accurate.

    whats the avarage number of throws a QB makes in a week at practice?
    will 30 more throws really make that much of a difference?

    this is the nfl. not the little leagues.

    What Hoge said goes in one ear and out the other. Eli Manning throws a lot of bad balls. Giants WR's have to risk injury almost every time he throws a ball. He has won a Super Bowl. Eli is really good at throwing to the wr that is one on one. If Tebow can do that he will be a factor in this league. The bigger problem is what's coming out of our own camp. Orton has been named the starter. Talk is Orton beats Tebow in every drill. I doubt Tebow could beat 75% of the QB'S in this league during drills. Can he beat them on Sundays? We need to find out. Let him start. Build the team around him. Get a good run game,defense,and special teams.

    That guy talks alot of shit about alot of players. A little too arrogant for my taste, and who the hell is he to talk with his career 3.8 ypc. Yeah, he was hardnose and shit, but i forgot, did he play QB? This guy is just a loudmouth who i trying to get a name. A former FB analyzing QB's? Shut Up asshole.

    You must be correct the game time reps are useless. The NFL suspends the need for game experience to improve because of their superior athletic prowess. I guess the SEAL teams can simply play video games to improve their skills cause they are the best of the best, and firefighters can just watch a DVD since they are pro's and real experience is not needed…once you are out of the little leagues you trancend basic human concepts of practicing, drilling, and real world experience to achieve growth.

    but ofcourse, its not. so u will keep saying tebows accuracy will magicaly improve on gameday, and i will trust in fox when he says that tebow is not the best QB on the roster.
