Round One is in the books, so tonight the Denver Broncos lock in to Rounds Two and Three of the 2011 NFL Draft.

The Broncos currently have three selections in these two rounds — 36th overall (4th pick in 2nd round), 46th overall (14th pick in 2nd round), and 67th overall (3rd pick in 3rd round), so it’s possible they could snag two of these players depending on who falls. Which prospects catch your eye?

Notes:

  • Clearly Da’Quan Bowers is the consensus top pick, but will teams continue to shy away from the Clemson powerhouse following his knee injury? If he falls to the Broncos at 36 should they jump on him?
  • (Not literally, that might hurt his knee.)
  • Only two other players appear in all four Top 10 lists: LB Akeem Ayers (who, coincidentally, always appears third) and DT Stephen Paea.
  • 29 of the 40 selections are defensive players.

Round Two is set to begin tonight at 4pm MT.

Gotta be Marvin Austin or Stephen Paea. We need inside DL help, and both of those guys can provide it.

  • Kevindow

Paea is the only DT in a lot of peoples top ten remaining. I hope the Broncos can jump on him with #36 and Mikel Leshoure with #46

  • flbronc

we should have our choice of the top defensive guys. i have a feeling that mallet and dalton are picked before we pic… leaving only one pick before us potentially defense. i would like paea- i think he is the best dt left, but would be happy with austin too. i hope we dont wait until 46 to address tackle.

Paea, Austin, Rudolph, Moore, LeShoure and a MLB. In fact there are loads of them. Should have plenty of choice.

  • Von Miller

Rahim Moore has just got to be the pick.

  • cuda

should be DT and S, but I'm not an expert, and since we still have the smartest admin/GM/coach in the league (who are still learning)…I feel secure in welcoming a new quarterback and a new TE. Welcome to the bronco family y'all.

  • crazykid

    wow poor Da'Quan…

just think, one month ago everyone had him going to us at 2nd Overall, and now he slipped to the second round.

I would not pick him unless he fell to the 3rd round, which is a polite way of saying “Stay away”

  • Shawno85

I'd go with Paea or Ballard, and then Moore. We need a Saftey as Dawkins is on his last wind and McBath and co. haven't really proven to be starters.

  • Youareanidiot

Hahaha smartest admin/gm/coach in the league. Obviously you are not the smartest fan in the country. What a joke.

  • Thanks for hillis

How many qb's does you “smart tandem” need? Tebow orton Quinn? Why not waist a pick on another one all three of those smart pick ups worked out for you. Thanks for peyton hillis.

  • lolgrammar

Waist a pick? Waist = the thing between your abdomen and your legs… I think you mean waste. Maybe you're not the smartest fan in the country, either?

I often picked up Stephen Paea with the Broncos pick in the mock drafts I had participated in. However, that was because Austin was already gone. I'd take Marvin Austin here if we're targeting DTs. However, we're not, Denver's targeting Best Player Available.

  • Youareanidiot

Didn't know you were a spell checking faggot. That's all you can come up with to defend yourself and your team is a t9 error. Get a life. Very weak broncos fans I'm disappointed. No wonder hillis wanted out when you have faggots like this clown there.

  • Triston27

You're welcome. It's the least we could do. What with taking 3 AFC Championships from Cleveland and all.

  • Mr_thomas_747

Austin or Paea with the 1st pick in the 2nd, & the 2nd pick should be the best player available whether it be Paea, Leshoure, Ryan Williams, Rahim Moore, Aaron Williams, Benjamin Ijalana, or Leonard Hankerson. & in the later rounds Kelvin Sheppard MLB, Drake Nevis DT, DJ Williams TE

  • Doom92

If Da'Quan is there we should absolutly take him quickly. Hope he is for sure. Looks like he will be, just hope we do it. He will have the chip for sure.

Aaron Williams would have been a good pick also

  • Doom92

That was a little disapointing… But it looks like we got a 4th and a 5th so thats good…

  • Doom92

Ok were getting close… I think taking the chance on Da'Quan would be well worth it. However, Stephen Paea and Mikel Leshoure here would be awesome…

  • Doom92

Good pick… Rahim Moore… Not what I expected but I like it.

  • Doom92

LOL… Orlando Franklin, what was that? Didn't even expect that one. Good player for sure, guys a brute but wow…

Of course I said last night I thought the remaining DT's were pretty much 3rd rounders…

  • Timlamons

I am a Bronco fan and a Texan fan. They both draft alike. Broncos need defensive lineman and a tight end so they draft LB, S, and OG.
Texans need a CB so they draft DE's.
I guess they think free agency will be there and help ???
