I fear for the decision Ben Garland may be making, even though it could be beneficial to the Broncos.

A career as an Air Force pilot is a great one, and one that will affect his entire life. His NFL career will be brief, if at all. Most people don't realize he will be 30 years old this month and he won't be eligible to play until the 2012 season. He will be a 31 year old rookie.

For his sake, I hope this is a wise career decision.

He's big, fast, strong and dedicated. I have full confidence he'll make the roster and play for at least two-three seasons.

I agree completely, but how does that compare to a 20 plus year career as a pilot serving his country in the USAF?
