Some fans in Denver seem to remember and some seem to forget, but Perrish Cox may or may not be playing for Denver when the next season starts.

Cox today had a court date set for March 7th (one day after the potential lockout); this date will determine whether Cox is to stand trial for allegations stemming from an arrest after two felony sexual assault charges were filed this past December.

The young corner could face at worst life in prison or several years in prison (in the real life sector) and/or a four game suspension if he goes to trial or is found guilty of any charge ( in the football sector).

Though admittedly it’s incredibly insensitive to mention here, but this may have a bit to do with the snag in the talks with Champ Bailey. It could also very well determine who the Broncos will be choosing with their first round draft pick.

The good news for Cox? He’s being represented by Harvey Steinberg, yes, that’s the same prolific lawyer who represented Brandon Marshall and Travis Henry during their time in Denver.

    Tell her I said “Whaddup!?”

Just kidding, her Dad's obviously a bad ass attorney; tell her no such thing.

Heck, I’m not concerned one way or another whether Cox goes to jail/prison. That’s for the court to decide. What I’m concerned with is the fact that Cox has NOT been a stellar player, by any means! 90% of the time, the guy’s out of position to make a play, and when he IS in position, he draws penalties! I say dump him and draft Peterson.

god i hope he's found innocent. thats the last thing this teamneeds right now. our best corner(hell, best player on the team) might be gone and then the one in line to potentially take his place is almost gone too. Patrick peterson would have to be the guy, which wouldnt sit well with me, but how else do you fill that void. On the other hand, Namni Osamuga(however you spell it) is all but garunteed to be a free agent this off season. so would it make sence that, if we get rid of champ, we sign namni, pick up peterson, and then revamp the front seven with the rest of our draft picks? Or should we sign namni any way, even if we keep champ, and use our picks according to our budget? lots off decisions to make for the Denver Broncos.

Why are thugs always good CBS, not always but most of the time?

Just so we're clear, Cox WILL be sitting out, per league rules, REGARDLESS of how this turns out.

Why are we worried about this guy?? Cox sucked this year. He's hardly ever in the position he needs to be in, and when he is, he draws penalties!

For a rookie he did pretty damn good. Plus he made plays all training camp.

Steinberg has repped a ton of Broncos in the past.
