A few weeks ago, NFL Network’s Top 100 NFL Players of all Time unveiled numbers 21-30 on their list. Among those players: John Elway.

I was anxious to see what NFL Network had to say about Elway, and found it interesting they didn’t even mention his amazing running ability, as you can see in the video:

Such a ridiculous ranking is absurd! Granted, he may not the greatest of all time, and maybe not even in the top five players of all time. But leaving him out of the top 10! That’s a crime.

I hate the rating but I absolutely love that they had Marty present John.

Yeah, his running was about more than simply buying time. No one ever consistently made 9 yards on 3rd-and-9's like John “eyes in the back of his head” Elway.

And always by one inch as he skipped out-of-bounds after reaching for another gear while guys like Neil Smith and Derrick Thomas were chasing him.

They didn't even show any of his QB draws for TD's.

But, then, the same clips are already cobbled together by Steve Sabol on Elway (and it would've taken extra effort to do more then add the one unfamilar one, where he passes along the sideline to Orson Mobley at Seattle).

Every other clip has been shown so many times. And truly a disappointing ranking, as John's abilities alone are what got us to those first three Super Bowls.

Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas and Tom Brady couldn't have gotten Sammy Winder, Vance Johnson and the Widell Brothers to those Super Bowls.

Peyton Manning, on the other hand, might've.

And no QB has ever spun away from pressure to his left like the Elway spin consistently and breathtakingly did. Just as no QB I've ever seen could sift through the pressure and find the disappearing pocket to step into like John could.

I'd have ranked him 7th overall. No explanation necessary.
