  • The Broncos will have to keep Chris Johnson, who is a big play in waiting, from working the perimeter of their defense Sunday.

  • The Broncos are the first team in NFL history to have four receivers with at least 10 catches, 140 receiving yards and one touchdown through the first three games.
  • Denver has mixed feelings about the the offense, however.  The passing game has worked beautifully, but the rushing attack has been non-existent.
  • Now that it is in hindsight, most everyone disagrees with McDaniels’ decisions to go for it on two forth down and goal situations. Mike Rice doesn’t, he liked the calls and puts most of the blame on the players execution.
  • Josh McDaniels says he’ll decide who the backup quarterback will be on gamedays on a week-by-week basis.
  • The Chiefs are two games up in the AFC West, but they’ll get a real test after their bye week.
  • The Ravens on Wednesday released former Bronco defensive end Trevor Pryce, Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh says Pryce will be brought back.

The more decisions Josh McDaniels leaves for himself, the more chances there are for disaster…on a week-by-week basis.

no shon must translate into a person that makes two yards average per attempt . Come on , Shannahan seemed to always come up with a running back that could get into the othersides back-field . Until we get away from our current way of thinking regarding running we will remain the same as we were last sunday .

  • TheTroglodyte

Shannahan always seemed to come up with 8 – 8 seasons too so not much has changed. Why are we still talking about that scrub?

  • AAA

Why waste our time with that conspiracy theory crap? I'd rather read another “the Broncos will one day be great” argument from of the McDaniels apologists around here.

  • anthony33

I don't know why, but I have the feeling that this is the week the Broncos break out. They've moved the ball consistently since the preseason and it's just a matter of time until Orton takes that next step and has the game 'slow down' for him in the red zone. If (and that's a big if) that happens this team will start putting up 30+ points a game.

Like I said, it's just a feeling. They are so close.

  • http://nation.theorangepage.com/blog Ian Henson

Three plays could have won the game against Indianapolis… I agree and that's against the Colts.

  • areferee

There is always an “if” in predictions, but I'll go with yours over all the “thinking heads” in New York and Bristol, Connecticut.

  • areferee

It's 'cuz he's cute, Irish, lives in a 30,000 square foot house and hates the Raiders as much as WE do… :-)

  • AKfan

Anybody that calls the coach that led this team to 1 super bowls a scrub is officially a crappy so-called Bronco fan. Have some respect unless you are some teenager that just became a fan last year.

  • AKfan

    2 super bowls

  • MrEast

    Correction.

“Anybody that calls the coach that led this team created by Dan Reeves and several salary cap violations to 2 super bowls a scrub is officially a crappy so-called Bronco fan.”

  • MrEast

    Amen.

  • TheTroglodyte

    lol

  • TheTroglodyte

Fortunately I was able to fix the flux capacitor and travel to the future. You nailed it.

  • MileHighTeamStore

Well if the offense is not performing like they should, why don't they go back to the offense that knew how to take any running back and get them easily over 1,000 yrds rushing!!

  • areferee

I THOUGHT that was you…we passed as I was on my way back. I left right before I was able to nail down the PowerBall numbers. CRAP!

  • Gary_in_SD

chargers are blacked out once again this weekend!

  • TheTroglodyte

    hahaha!

  • herc_rock

Shanny drafted TD, hired Alex Gibbs and turned one of the league's worst rushing offenses into one of the best in one year. By year two they were THE best. Let's give him a little credit.

Whats the situation with Lloyd? hasn't practiced this week and has no injury (that I know of).

  • Gary_in_SD

Even better… The Bronco game will be televised here in SD!

    We removed it!

  • areferee

    Dan Issel plays HOCKEY??? :-)

Name Position Injury Wed. Thu. Fri. Game Status
Dawkins, Brian S Ankle DNP FP FP probable

Moreno, Knowshon RB Hamstring DNP DNP DNP Out
    Williams, Jamal DL Non-Injury – DNP – –
Woodyard, Wesley LB Hamstring DNP DNP DNP Out

Our running game is screwed again!

  • anthony33

Too bad Larsen is out just when the “starting” o-line will be together for the first time this year. The good news is Daniels, Walton (a horse) and Beadles received invaluable experience between the preseason and now (7 games already under thier belts).

I like to see Hall get a chance to run this weekend… at least he hits the hole hard. Maroney looks like a guy the Pats would trade (nothing left), Buckhalter is nowhere near where he started last year. And I know I've been down on him, but I don't see much when Moreno returns.

We need a 'born and bred' Bronco as the leader on defense… Gradishar, Thompson, Mecklenburg, Jones, Smith (Dennis), Atwater, Wilson. Love Dawkins, and he will certainly do for the immediate future, but it's just not the same as the aforementioned.

Still have a good feeling about this weekend.

  • areferee

Hall? He's long gone. Did you mean Ball? He's on our PS. Only Buck, Maroney and Brown are on our active roster and uninjured.

  • Nisse

didnt they cut brown to make room for ball on the roster?

  • areferee

No. Here are the last few pertinent transactions:

    Denver Broncos (NFL.com)

9/23 Lance Ball (RB) practice squad addition.

    9/21
Andre Brown (RB) Activated from the Practice Squad.
    Lance Ball (RB) cut.

    9/18
Andre Brown (RB) practice squad addition.
Bruce Hall (RB) practice squad deletion.

    9/15
    Andre Brown (RB) cut.
    Brandon Stokley (WR) cut.
Brandon Stokley (WR) Taken off IR (undisclosed).

    9/14
Titus Brown (LB) practice squad addition.
Laurence Maroney (RB) traded (with draft pick for 2011 4th round pick).
Jeff Stehle (DT) practice squad addition.
Worrell Williams (LB) practice squad deletion.

  • anthony33

Honestly, I'm notsure anymore. They have shuffled Hall, Ball and Brown around so much since the end of camp that I'm not sure. I thought both Hall and Ball did a resonable job during preseason considering they were playing with e different O-line almost every series.

  • TheTroglodyte

Hall is gone, Ball is on the PS and Brown is on the roster.

WHERE ARE THE FREAKING UPDATES? Someone write something damnit, I'm getting withdraws. Hey I do my part, I randomly click on banner ads to help you guys out and that makes me a paying customer! lol Just kidding.

Seriously though, I am getting withdraws.

  • areferee

I keep writing stuff and they keep taking it off. It's happening all too often. I posted twice on this subject. Both removed. Don't know why. Maybe I'm a law-breaker…but you got it right Trog.

  • areferee

Thanks to Kyle for the note, researching the problem and restoring a missing post. We appreciate everything that you guys do. Keep it up.

  • areferee

Make that three times…I give up. I'll confine my posts to the DPO.

  • anthony33

    Trog and areferee…

Same thing here. The site has been in and out since the beginning of the season… disappointing because this was the best site out there.

Again, an explanation would be nice.

  • TheTroglodyte

Yeah I'm seeing your stuff. I think it's disqus not them if its your comments that are getting taken down. Disqus has a lot of issues. Just a guess. I've had comments randomly disappear and then sometimes reappear later.

  • areferee

Thanks for the input, my man. Keep posting. I'll keep reading. Thanks.

  • areferee

Thanks to you too, A-Man. Keep posting. Don't forget it's an early game tomorrow.

We are not removing, there must be some type of confusion. I will figure it out for you.

We appreciate every single comment you have given and speaking for myself I love to hear what you have to say about what I have to say.
