The Denver Broncos have announced their 2010 practice squad:

  • LB Kevin Alexander
  • OL Jeff Byers
  • WR Britt Davis
  • DL Lionel Dotson
  • TE Riar Geer
  • RB Bruce Hall
  • S Kyle McCarthy
  • LB Worrell Williams
  • crazykid

Good practice squad. I look forward to seeing Alexander and McCarthy especially…

Bronx need to pick up LegGarrette Blount RIGHT FRICKIN' NOW!!!

He will immediately be the third back, and hell, if all else fails they could make him a LB. He's certainly big enough and we know he's not afraid to hit someone!!! He is the nasty SOB this team needs.

  • dbroncs24/7

we should pick up tony richardson, the jets cut him. Then we can move larsen back to lb for depth

  • NavyBSU_fan

I am not a big fan of Lagarrette Blount. (see the profile name) I remember Blount as a guy that can tear up sub par competition but gets stuffed by bigger teams. Besides, the guy is not stable in the head. Oh well, who am I kidding? If he becomes a Denver Bronco all is forgiven and I will root for him.

In all seriousness, we need to use the last three spots on our practice squad to keep running backs on the roster.

  • areferee

    Names we know…

Seth Olsen signed with the Vikings (PS)

Tom Brandstater still with the Colts (PS)

Round and round they go, and where they stop…

Branson may be on his way elsewhere, the alternate to that thinking is that the Broncos just really don't want him, but wanted to practice against him…

Geer messed up big in dropping that ball that likely would have at least tied the game against Minnesota on Thursday, yet he's still on the team. So I'm not sure.

  • http://nation.theorangepage.com/blog Ian Henson

I know that there are a lot of fans of Blount. He goes against this whole character thing the Broncos have made first and foremost though. I can really see him helping out a team though and I think it would be very beneficial to have the defense going up against this guy every week in practice.

  • http://nation.theorangepage.com/blog Ian Henson

Larsen's already available for depth at linebacker. Do love Richardson, he would help out the young guys a lot, but I could see Shanahan picking him up in Washington.

  • crazykid

Why haven't we signed Jammie Kirlew?

  • http://nation.theorangepage.com/blog Ian Henson

It's baffling to me this whole situation at linebacker. It's impossible for us to know what's going/gone on behind closed doors, but the Broncos situation at linebacker

What Klis forgot in his dead money article on Denver Post today is that the Broncos gave up a 5th round in 2011 to the Buccaneers to draft both Syd'Quan Thompson and Jammie Kirlew in the 7th round in April

  • Roy

Kirlew could go on the squad. The only thing I can think of is that they are evaluating other LB's. The coaching staff has a lot of guys on the wire to evaluate right now.

  • flbronc

has anyone picked up myron rolle? he would be a good ps guy to work into replacing our aging secondary in a few years.

  • anthony33

I know he has had the one major problem last year and not sure about any others. I think the character thing is a good thing to strive for, but didn't the Bronx kind of overlook a couple of things in the case of LenDale? I mean if he has broken any laws, been arrested more than once and not on drugs… what the heck. He might just be a mean SOB. which is exactly what we need.

  • anthony33

correction: that should read 'if he HASN'T broken any laws'

  • Vince_marine

What I don't get is why McDaniels said that Branson would be the next Antonio Gates, and here we are cutting him. He must have really not performed well in McD's eyes, and perhaps the expectations were to high.

  • sparky44

Legarrette Blount would be a STEAL right now. Speed power and attitude at a position in which we are very thin and likely to get thinner. After surprise cut by Titans,he will be even more determined to make someone (defenses) pay.

  • areferee

He is on the Titan's PS, so he is still available to sign.

  • OldCoachB

Did you all miss the fact that Blount punched his own teammates at practice this guy is police blotter waiting to happen

  • anthony33

Getting in a fight at practice is no big deal… it happens multiple times on every team, every year.

Now, if he has a record of arrests. which you point out, then it's a different story. I have not seen anything that says he's been arrested. Does he have a nasty attitude, yes. Is he over emotional, yes. Can he play fullback, yes. Do we need a power nasty fullback to block and gain short yardage… hell yes.

  • Nisse

lendale actuely seems like a nice guy during interviews, blunt seems like a SOB on and of the field.

  • areferee

Besides, T-Bone would bring him salvation…

  • robtink242

I will call J. McDaniels and tell him sign L. Blount from Tennessee like pronto

  • areferee

WOW! The “Kube” steps it up at Houston! You might say he has gone to the Matt(s) for his team. Gutsy move. I hope it works out for him.

Has the Bronco staff taken the holiday off? There is a lot of talent out there that could help our squad, not to mention three more “Taxis” to catch. I hope they're not asleep at the switch.

  • http://nation.theorangepage.com/blog Ian Henson

He got into another fight during training camp, not that that's that big of a character flaw.

  • http://nation.theorangepage.com/blog Ian Henson

Word is he's on his way back to the New York Jets.

  • anthony33

    areferee,

Yes, the Bronco staff has taken the holiday off and Xanders is asleep at the wheel. Bucs just signed Blount. Meanwhile Xanders and co. pissed away something like $5mm between Smith and Green.

Way too many mistakes during his first 16 months on the job. Getting the right personnel on your team is every bit as important as getting the correct coaching staff. McD is iffy, but Xanders is quickly becoming the village idiot.

  • anthony33

I all fariness I should mention that perhaps we did not get a chance to sign him as I think Tampa would have had the first crack at him. I would be interested to know if we at least put in a claim for him…

  • Rcsodak

Yes, I agree, anthony33. I mean, Shanny was a HC/GM for 10+yrs and STILL did it. How DARE they. :coffee:

Show me a team…JUST 1…..that HASN'T signed a player(s) and later decided they screwed up.

Good luck, with that, by the way.

  • areferee

Jeff Byers and Lionel Dotson? WTF?
Did you look at the most recent Depth Chart? What is going on?

  • Vince_Marine

I don't know who Byers or Dotson are. They weren't in camp with Denver.

What didn't you like about the depth chart? I think it looks alright, especially with Hunter at the starting OLB. I really liked what I saw from him in the preseason.

  • anthony33

    Rcsodak

So you're fine with it… so be it. As a fan, I am not.

One of the contributing reasons (and a big one) Shanny was fired is because of all the dead money.

  • anthony33

Sorry, I'm not following you on the Byers – Dotson thing???
