Draft Prospect Video – ILB Rolando McClain

The annual BroncoTalk tradition of draft prospect videos returns today!  As draft day approaches, we will be giving you game tape highlights of some of the bigger (and smaller) names around the draft.  We will kick off the first few days by selecting players that are very likely to be selected by Denver in the 1st round.  We’ve always prided ourselves on giving you a pre-draft glimpse of at least our #1 selection.  With that said, today we feature Alabama star linebacker Rolando McClain.  Have any players that caught your eye? Shout them out in the comments and we’ll try to squeeze them in before the draft.

Today’s first two videos will be straight forward as they’re provided by Universal Draft.  These are the most comprehensive scouting videos you’re likely to find on the internet so we won’t be adding much to them.  The NFL does not have individual combine videos as of yet, so we’ll take the wait and see approach there.  The third video is the truncated flashy highlight reel.  What’s great and important to watch on the first two is that they’re not all great plays, but also blown assignments and tackles as well.  Enjoy!

    Maybe I missed something, but he doesn't look that impressive on the field. I see someone who can tackle a guy, when he has already been engaged by another defensive guy. I see a guy who tackles too high and has no mean streak in him. By that I mean I didn't really see him blow people up like I have seen DJ do a hundred times.
    Correct me if I am wrong

    not impressive, slow, too tall, but looks to shed blockers pretty well. Dan Williams tape aint that impressive either though….he gets man handled and pushed back with the double team, can't rush the passer, and looks slow. I sure hope the broncos get this right bc I don't like either one of these guys….show us Dez plz.

    Thoroughly unimpressive. Flows to the ball slowly; tackles high, with his arms and without explosion; lacks an aggressive demeanor; … There wasn't a single play on that entire reel that showed him making a big stop for a loss or reading and reacting to a screen pass quickly…

    What am I missing?

    go oak town i moved from cali t this dump grand junction you guys hate thats why we got him you didnt see all his tapes obviously. the guy is a smart linebacker that follows the ball carrier side line to side line.and keeps in his post incase of a reverse football 101. have any of you guys ever played?
