Former Buffalo Bills running back coach Eric Studesville is immediately showing his influence in Denver as the Broncos announced the signing of former Bills running back Bruce Hall.

Hall started as both a quarterback and running back in college at the University of Mississippi. He was signed in 2008 as a college free agent, but has not seen a carry as an NFL player.

Press release after the mouse key pound.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos on Monday signed free-agent running back Bruce Hall, it was announced.

Hall (5-foot-11, 205 pounds), who entered the NFL with Buffalo as a college free agent in 2008, is a second-year player who spent the majority of his two seasons on the Bills’ practice squad. He was signed to the Bills’ active roster and dressed but did not play in Buffalo’s 2008 season finale against New England.

Hall, 24, split time as a running back and quarterback in college at the University of Mississippi (2006-07) after spending time at Northeast Community College (2005), Troy University (2004) and Wake Forest (2003). Hall totaled 416 yards and a touchdown on 85 carries (4.9 avg.) while adding 15 catches for 149 yards (9.9 avg.) and one score in 23 games over two seasons at Mississippi.

He was an all-state selection at Northeast Community College (Norfolk, Neb.) in 2003 and earned the Offensive Backs Most Valuable Player Award after passing for 1,003 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for nearly 300 yards. He worked on Troy’s scout team while having to sit out due to the NCAA transfer rule in 2004. Hall redshirted as a true freshman at Wake Forest in 2003.

Hall attended Milton High School in Orlando, Fla., where he ranked No. 45 on the Orlando Sentinel’s Top 100 Florida prospects list. He totaled 5,646 passing yards and 61 touchdowns while completing 357-of-650 pass attempts during his career. He also contributed 476 carries for 2,534 yards and 31 touchdowns. He led the team to the district championship as a junior.

Bruce Tarahn Christopher Hall, who majored in exercise science at Mississippi, was born March 18, 1985, in Milton, Fla.

Great News a new coach brings in one of his own players from the practice squad thats also a slash qb. OK now go draft Lagarrate Blunt from Oregon so we can actually get a 3rd and 1 and have him bitch slap Phillip Rivers after the game.

Let's see... a running back that has been in the league for 2 years and never played a down in a regular season game... who cares.

What makes it interesting is the fact that he's a running back coming from Buffalo's practice squad, and Eric Studesville, the Bronco's new running backs coach, also came from Bufallo. He likely knows a thing or two about this guys abilities and/or potential.

Eric will make an impact for the broncos as he did in buffalo. Every year in buffalo he had a thousand yard rusher behind a poor offensive line and always playing from behind. i know its been a few years for denver having a 1000 yard season but You will see your Moreno gain 1200 to 1500 yards this season...

I called it from the begining Broncos are going to get Mc Nabb frome the eagles.I hope they don't trade Marshall for him.Mc Daniels said he would like to keep Brandon but who know's.Mc Nabb to go with Mc Daniels.I called it.I think it's a good broncos need this move a vet qb like Mc Nabb is grate.
  • TheTroglodyte
McNabb is one of the most overrated qb's to ever play the game (Yes I can actually prove that statement but would have to cut up a highlight reel to do so). That being said he is still a top 10 qb in the league today. That being said McD would never take him because his skill sets and lack thereof completely clash with what McD wants to do.

Lastly McNabb isn't cheese so I wouldn't call him "grate".

This is great news to me. It at the least shows McD is letting his coaches be involved in the decision making process rather than just telling them what to do.
  • Hmm, good point =)
