Hey, does anyone know if there is a coverage map that has been released
for the BC Wake Forest game? I’m scared that out here on the west coast
we may not get the game because Washington State is playing also.

Our o-line was built to be a “light” & mobile “zone blocking” unit….McD needs to use them as such. They are not built to do traditional run blocking, they need to “move”…

O-line is an issue and has been for awhile. They’ve been piss poor in the red zone for years now and Cutler hid many of the flaws on pass protection.

Having said that, Kyle Orton is clearly not the answer. I don’t think they should bench him but if the Broncos happen to lose to Washington…bring on Simms.

Watching the offense, Orton seems to be holding the playcalling back. They opened up the playcalling with Simms and Brandstater more in the preseason than they have with Orton all year.

I’m not big on stats but Orton has thrown two 300 yard games in his 41 career games. One against the lowly 0-16 Lions last year and and an OT game against the Pats this year. 300 yard games aren’t hard to come by in this league now-a-days especially when you throw the ball 40x a game.

Ultimately I agree. Ideally if Orton is to remain the starter his level of play will have to be higher than it has been. That being said, I do think that he has the potential to develop in this system. We'll see how things end up

We have not scored more than 20 points (Browns and Raiders dont count) all season…Only one person is to blame when those dismal numbers are brought to light…THE QB….Can putting Simms at QB make our offense any worse, statistically speaking, we cant get much worse. It is at least worth a try.

I think Orton is a good game-manager type qb. He does what he needs to do to win games (well obviously except the last 2 weeks). Unfortunately, there are going to be days against great teams (like Pittsburgh) when managing the game is not enough. We need to find a breakout QB and draft him. I am not sure who at this point, but Sam Bradford and Tim Tebow come to mind.

I think part of the problem is the play calling. Has McD given him the chance to throw deep? Last time I checked Orton doesn't call the plays. It's hard for me to believe that an NFL QB can't throw over 20-30 yards. Orton is doing fine. The defense is what is going to get us to the promise land!!!

We can gripe about Orton not outright winning games for us, but our last QB managed more INTs in one game than this one has this season and loose a close game to a mediocre team. Who cares how many yards and TDs he has. He's 6 and 2 with us. If he wins two more games this season, he has hit the high water mark set by the most optimistic of us preseason.
