Invesco Field at Mile High

Call it Preseason Game 0.5.

The Denver Broncos are leaving the tranquility of Dove Valley for the roar of INVESCO Field at Mile High Thursday night, hosting a full team scrimmage under the stadium lights. The two-hour event will feature full pads and live game scenarios.

Admission and parking are both free to the public, with festivities set to begin at 6:00 p.m.

“There will be some live contact and hitting,” Head Coach Josh McDaniels told the media Wednesday. “We are going to simulate, as much as we can, a game-type setting and scenario for our players and staff because we haven’t done this together yet. We don’t want the first time that it happens to be in San Francisco.” The Broncos kick off the 2009 preseason in San Francisco on Friday, August 14th.

Gates for Thursday’s practice open at 5:30 p.m., and seating for the stadium is general admission. Free parking is available on the south end of the stadium in lots A, B and C. Fans should enter the stadium through gate 10.

The full team will be available for autographs following the practice, and there will also be a limited T-Shirt giveaway.

“We are all looking forward to going down there,” McDaniels said. “Usually during this time of training camp, you get rejuvenated by going down there, putting the lights on and being in the stadium. It is a fun thing for all of us.”

I can’t wait to see how both the offense and defense look in game situations, under the lights. I am pumped for Thursday night’s practice.

man I wish I lived in Denver sometimes, at least for football season, even if life is great here.

I feel you Spain Man, this is my last day in Denver and I am going to miss it terribly. I would move here in a second. Anyone hiring?

Pete – I know the news crews will be allowed to film, including some live shots. If you have a DVR/Tivo, count on some highlights on the local news.

I’ve always wanted to attend a game in Denver, albeit a simulated one. Difficult to do when you are 2000 miles away in Connecticut.

  • KMA

Yeah, only 1200 miles away in Portland, Or. but the same result: no coverage here. Only saving grace is that I have my tickets to the Seachickens pre-season game 2 rows right behind the Broncos Bench!!
    Cant wait!!!
