Great article and as a Bronco fan I totally agree but would like to add one thing that the article touched on. The Broncos are changing a culture that had gone bad under Mike Shanahan. Shannie is a great coach but some of his personnel skills were sorely lacking and two Super Bowls in his first four years here gave him a free pass for another ten mediocre years. I love Shanahan but now that his era is over I see how blind I was to the obvious. I had forgotten that in college and even high school he was the same as he is now. Shanahan also loved to coddle his stars and Jay Cutler was one of those privilged. Bowlen saw that his own loyalty was clouding his judgement and when he cleared the fog he knew a changw was in order. Now I also believe Josh McDaniels was hired precisely because of his philosophy on personnel. Which is that no one gets coddled and that character is of the utmost importance. So know in the pre season we are seeing the upheavel this is causing with the coddled like Cutler and the troubles like Marshall. Here in Denver alot of fans have already given up on the Broncos. Not me I beleive in where Bowlen Xanders and McDaniels are headed. I think the franchise will be better off in the long run and I am being patient and holding the faith.

Jake Plummer was a extreme gifted QB and i'm not saying that Orton doesnt have talent he just isnt Plummer....Jake had more speed, a better arm and he played with a lot more confidence than Orton.... Maybe now that Orton has a HC that believes in him he'll show more confidence on the field....But like someone said in a previous post Orton “plays not to lose QB VS a playing to win QB”..... Meaning he does have the balls to make the high risk high reward throws cause he doesnt want to get bench.....But in the spirit of fairness lets give Orton a clear slate and se what he does with this team.

I think it's funny how all Cutlers highlights were spot on and did not once show how he tried to force the ball to Bmarsh every other throw. I like Orton, he reminds me of Plummer. Not pretty but was a winner. I can't wait untill the season starts and all the experts and fair weather fans start changing their tunes.

T-Money Thanks for the link...Wilcots doesnt bring much to the table. He blurts out general knowledge. We all know that cutler is a better athlete and has better arm strength than orton. I dont think that anyone would argue that. Orton is not going to boot leg and throw the ball 40 yds across the field. Wilcots and most other analysts are being vague because its too early... so they just keep comparing cutler and orton. I agree with wilcots when he states that orton cant rely on arm strength and will have to "dink and dunk" the ball and that royal should have a big role but i dont think we all need to watch NFLTA to figure that out. Orton is not cutler but he can still win. Instead of launching the ball into double coverage orton will have to check down and find the open man. Thanks to wilcots we all know that orton should avoid throwing off his back foot... thank god he is here to let us know that. It would have been nice if he would have went into a little depth about how the old (shanny) scheme will differ from the new (McD) scheme or go into a little detail about us switching to the 3-4 or how some players roles will probably change a bit. We are switching systems on both sides of the ball why didnt he talk about any players or their roles on the team besides orton and marshall.

Okay, Divas can win championships, I'll give you that. But it didn't seem like they wanted to be on THIS team anymore, so why not deal them and build a new generation of talent. There's a lot of shaking things up in the air for governments, for people, and yes for football teams. Uranus is opposing Saturn in the heavens just like in '64-'65 (yes, I'm an astrologer), and things are shifting again in a revolution against the old guard. So, being that this is the vibe on earth right now, the most revolutionary action and openess to change is going to have the universe on its side. Which team has made the most off-season shake-ups in the NFL? Our team! So we'll be good to go and hopefully don't have to use this season to find our rhythm. I hope we use the first three easier games to do that and then explode into the heavy schedule and pull off some stunning victories. It's going to be exciting actually seeing who does emerge in place of Marshall and Cutler, but especially leaders on the defense. We are going to be competitive!

jcampb72,

You don't think Tom Brady's a diva? Deion Branch? He only pulled the same move as BM and request a trade. Randy Moss, Corey Dillion? The reason you don't hear anything negative is because they're winning. Winning cures all

Bums can win SB's at QB(Dilfer, McMahon). But you better have a team of studs at every other postion.

East, do you really think Orton has that with this team? He might have better weapons on offense than he did in Chicago, but he's doesn't have nearly the defense. Remember this team gave up 28+ pts per game. Only the Rams and Lions gave up more. Do you remember how those teams did?

McD came from the patriots. They didn't need divas to win. Randy Moss is the closest thing to it and I don't ever here anything negative from the guy. 8 more days!
