New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick on newly-hired Denver Broncos Head Coach Josh McDaniels:

Josh McDaniels is one of the finest people and brightest, most talented coaches I have ever worked with. Since joining us eight years ago, Josh performed a variety of roles and excelled in every one of them. Between his work on defense, in scouting, player evaluation and coordinating the offense, Josh is a very well-rounded coach whose outstanding body of work speaks for itself. He is the product of a pure football environment which is evident in his approach to the game. On behalf of the entire Patriots organization, we thank Josh for tremendous success in New England and congratulate him and the McDaniels family for this most deserving opportunity for advancement.

Good to have him as the new coach. I really loved Mike, but unfortunately times change. New good minds of the game become great minds over time and then great minds retire to reflect, manage or comentate. Mike had a wonderful tenure, I am certain we will see him again in some capacity.

I really hated the idea of Mike Shanahan fired. i always figured he retire. And when they hired josh mcdaniels i was even mader cuz he was an offensive coach and the d was terrible! but once he hired Mike Nolan i realized that Josh had a plan and might actually fix the d! i Mean Mike shanahan couldnt really expect to fix the d with just boss bailey!
