DENVER BRONCOS 2009 SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED »

Well, we can say this about 2009, it certainly won’t be any easier… Though it’s been no secret that Denver would face the NFC East and the AFC North in 2009. What people weren’t sure about was who those last two-teams would be; the Broncos drew the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots.

Here are the Broncos opponents for anyone who hasn’t had a peak just yet:

Home: Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants.

Away: Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins.

That’s a whole lot of teams that made the playoffs (7) and teams that could have made the playoffs (Patriots, Redskins)- plus the Raiders and Chiefs are only looking to get better. The Broncos go from having one of the easiest schedules in 2008 (strength of schedule wise) to having one of the most difficult in 2009 (only behind the Chargers).

    wow

  • robtink242

yeh thats tough. hopefully this team can get more physical by then

  • http://broncomadness.com Garrett Barnes

I think that the NFL wants to have someone in the AFC West go to the playoffs with a 7-9 record if that is the kind of schedule they are giving us.

  • http://broncotalk.net Joe

I love it. This is perfect for Denver. We play up to our competition, so holy hell we will have our chance to do so. Imagine if we win the West with this schedule. Denver will come out of the 2009 season a very good team.

  • olen

What is the big thing ? If we are good we win if not we lose. Of course there is some luck and intangibles involved . The players make the big money and take the good with the bad . If given the choice they would not shy away from this schedule .

  • Danish Denver-fan!

    That’s ugly. No help there!

Allthough it might be as bad as it looks compared to this year; 4 very good teams in the NFC South are substituted with 4 very good teams in the NFC East, and 3 mediocre and 1 bad team in the AFC East is substituted with 2 very good and 2 very bad teams.

    Did that make any sense?

  • Kawike

Hopefully the defense can man up by next year so that they can actually contain some of these offenses. Our offense will do just fine, no doubt about that.

  • http://broncotalk.net Kyle

Woo hoo! Only nine months until the 2009 season begins!

  • Justin

wow. what did we do to deserve this schedule…. If it says we have the second toughest next to SD i wanna see there schedule…. anyone know if its up yet

  • Ellis

It will be a tough season……I’m looking forward that next season begins! Happy New Year!

  • broncobilly32

Oh sh*t! This is going to be brutal. If they get full health, I see a very tough 10-6 team into the 09 playoffs!

  • OC Bronco

Wow. That cold be the undoing of the Mike Shanahan era in Denver. The only chance we have to make the playoffs is if we beat KC and Oakland twice and Chargers once. That is a brutal brutal schedule.
Even Cinci could be decent next year. They closed the season with 3 wins and their D played well and now they get Palmer back. Still that is one of the games we will expect to win if we are a playoff team.

  • http://www.broncotalk.net Joe

NFL.com reports that the Denver Broncos have fired Head Coach Mike Shannahan!!! SHIT!!!

  • http://broncotalk.net Ian Henson

Justin- SD has the same exact schedule, but instead of NE and Indy, they play Tennessee and Miami

  • steve

so youre saying the chargers have an easier schedule than us then…

anyone with an ounce of sanity would rather play the dolphins and titans than the colts and pats, especially with brady back..

our defense better get solid by next year if we want the playoffs, this schedule is brutal!

  • david

    ouch, can anyone say 6-10?

  • Paty

    Damm Shannys gone!
I’m not too sure if that was the thing to do.
We need to sign Ray Lewis before we start that difficult season!!
    Damm they are killing us!!!!

  • T-Money

There are 4 automatic losses up there

  • http://www.magickidsusa.com mike

With the 2009 schedule this will be a must toi shore up a porus Deffense how about a Bronco first lage line men on the D-Line,Who is going to coach us now

  • http://www.magickidsusa.com mike

Brian Westbrook running aginst the Broncos Defense oHHHHHHH my

  • tgh210

yea our d playing against westbrook will suck…but playing against jacobs/ward is just scary

  • ron marken

We need not worry about the chargers. We need to just take 2009 one game at a time, we are capable of winning any giving game. combine skill with a little bit of luck(john elway always said I’d rather be lucky than good.) The broncos have got to get their defensive situation under control. If they do that, then all should be well.Mike shanahan will be missed but it was time for a change and he will do well regardless were he ends up at. We need to just earn a playoff spot because once the playoffs start everyone is 0-0. Mark my words we will. return to dominance once again. P.S. How long will we have to hear about week 2 against the chargers? People act like Ed’s bad call was the first and only bad call ever made in the history of the game. I truly feel things will get better for the broncos and we will once again see a game at mile high stadium in the month of january. GO BRONCOS!!!!

  • big daddy

what the hell is everyone whining about. If you want to be the best then you have to beat the best. The two best teams in football are the STEELERS and theRAVENS. I just hope that the BRONCOS understand that if they are going to be successful they must get a hell of alot better on defense.

  • hmm

well I guess the Broncos are screwed, the steelers won the super bowl last year and they had the toughest schedule, i dont think the broncos will though, theyll probably finish like 5-11

  • gingwer

if they get into the playoffs with this schedual, they more than deserve a superbowl win

  • israel

come you guys we need to have faith in our team. we got a lot of good free agents coming and cutler is great they just need to get there a game going with dawkins there and bailey we have the chance to overcome anything but lewis would be a great asset lets go broncos 09 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Matt

in order to be the best you have to beat the best. i like it, i think if the denver that played the jets and the raiders in week 1 will show up we can beat anyone.

  • broncoFAN3

with the signings of dawkins, hill, and goodman to go along with champ we should be okay in the secondary but it is a “must” that we patch up the d-line&linebackers in the draft…aka: ray maulagua/bj raji

  • caroline

screw josh, denver needs cutler, I will follow where ever he goes…..josh made a hugh mistake

  • caroline

broncos r about 2 make me a free agent! shanhan gone good, but fn w/ my qb, thats stupid! now we have 2 trade him, hope we get some1 ok 4 him

  • Not a Bronco Fan, lol….

The Broncos don’t stand a chance, and no they don’t play to their competition, what team were you fair weather fans watching, no Shan, no Chump-ler, you might as well call it a day better yet a season, Broncos Suck, the sooner you realize it the better off you will be……Haaaahaaalol…

  • the guy above me is a tool

why do you come on to the broncos fan page if you are “Not a Bronco Fan,” get a life…next year is unpredictable at this point with cutler possibly staying or possibly going, and the draft can answer some defensive needs

  • Bronco Nick

Lets face it guys even for us Bronco Fans we will be lucky to win 6 games this year.

  • Robert

It might look tough, but if we get some strong defensive players in the Draft, get the D motivated, and have our facny new coach pull something out of his…… we could have a good season. just hope we have no more qb problems. but the are going to be working their tails off to stay in the game.

one last note, We win the games we are not suppose to win but the games we are suppose to win we end up losing. this is pretty unpredictable.

  • Owensmj11

The Broncos need to do much better at home this year than they did last year. If we dominate before our bye (week 7) and get a good rest, then the rest of the seson will be a lot easier than if we start 3-3 (which is a very good possibility we will).

  • kris b

Its going to be tough but we should be good if everybody brings there lunches and wants to be a bronco
