Defensive ends can make an impact day 1???? have you seen Jarvis Moss and Tim Crowder?? two DE's drafted in the first two rounds and neither have busted a grape in nearly two years. besides QB, DE is the hardest position to make an impact from day one. and Shanahan isnt gonna go DE again in the first round. a safety or MLB or RB is most likely.

I'm with the guys that say screw the splashy free agent play for Haynesworth - that has never worked out well for the broncos, and for once, we've got a core nucleus that is getting better and likes to play together. Nothing worse than a bunch of mercernaries.

I'd rather they draft or trade, or trade-for-draft. Despite all the Shanny haters, I think his draft ratio of stars/ok players/busts is like 1/12/1 which is pretty good. His free agent signing ratio is like 0/1/2 isn't it? Seriously!

Plus defensive ends can make an impact day 1....

I think that we should have 5 running backs and one international player on our practice squad next year. If the IP can be a running back I think that would be just about right.

true that Haynesworth would demand alot of money. but there really isnt any other DT's that stand out on the free agent market. Gerard Warren may be released by Oakland. that could be a decent pickup. id say draft Terrence Cody, but Shanahan doesnt like the mammoth DT's for some reason. the smaller guys arent getting it done. its time to go BIG. and i dont think Laurinitis or Maualuga will be avilable when we pick in the draft. i think Laurinits is overrated and too small to play MLB at the next level. he would be an excellent Weakside LB in the NFL. Maualuga would be the ideal choice. but Brandon Spikes would be the best pick from the spot we draft in. and im speculating here (because i love talk of the offseason and the draft) but i feel Huff will be released. he has already been benched by the Raiders and should be released this offseason. if Shanahan gets him, then saftey doesnt need to be addressed in the early rounds. although Taylor Mays would be awesome, he wont be available either. a franchise RB is needed also. and seriously here, if Knowshon Moreno falls to us in the draft, i see Shanahan pouncing on him immediately. maybe even Lesean McCoy too.

Do we realize what has happened when we spent big money on old possibly washed up players with a few problems? Think Travis Henry. Look, I say no to Haynesworth but I am all for Michael Huff. That would be a good pick up.

lets not forget that albert haynesworth is in a contract year and playing his heart every week to get that huge contract... mark my words when i say that HAYNESWORTH WILL NEVER BE THIS GOOD AGAIN. do you remember a few years back when he stepped on andre gurodes head in a game, or when he fought one of his own teammates and was labeled an underperformer by jeff fischer. the guy is still good dont get me wrong, but he might have too much baggage and i could so see him coming here on a 5 year 60 million contract, and then being medicore and content with his money. another point to make is that fishcer and shanny are good long time friends and I'm sure that jeff will tell shanny all he needs to know to make a conscious decision on haynesworth. oh, I have one more point, the freakin economy, why should the broncs pay this guy rediculous amounts of money and then raise ticket prices and raise everything, just look at the cowboys, their new stadium and huge contracts they dole out is really hitting the fans hard.

Im into the michael Huff project. We should also do everything in our power to get haynesworth. We will not be the only team after him so who knows if we can get him. Keep bly and dump boss. Bly is fine for another year until we develop bell or j will. Im not opposed to drafting an rb in the 1st round but our defense does need the most help. I still say draft a Safety if we dont get the position figured out in the off season. I do like Spikes out of FL at MLB, I would be stoked if we got him. I think he has the potential to be better than Maualuga and Laurinitis. Im ok with grabbing Jeb. We need depth at TE.

Wow another blast from the past. With Jeb and Tatum back it'll feel just like old times. Maybe we can even pull Plummer off the Handball Court!: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=clemmons/081112&sportCat=nfl

Flbronc-

the Haynesworth deal can happen. and seriously if he was brought in, our DE's in Moss and Dumervil would become more effective. just like Kyle Vanden Bosch did in Tennessee. the focus was on Haynesworth and therefore Vanden Bosch was able to get alot of sacks. and if one free agent can make a huge impact like Haynesworth can then its worth dumping some guys. like Bly for instance.

MikeY55-

yeah Bly has been playing good. but he isnt getting thrown at as much because Champ isnt in there. when Champ is in there then Bly gets thrown at alot and gets beat alot. if we dumped Bly we could save a ton of money and use in on Haynesworth. Peppers is gonna be franchised so he wont be available. and from where we are gonna pick this year in the draft then we wont get a top quality DT. one big name free agent can make a huge difference in our defense. Mike Peterson is old. and got booted for insubordnation. Shanahan wont pick him up. besides Ray Lewis is gonna be a free agent also. if there is one beast out there at MLB that will be a free agent it will be Ray Lewis. if the Haynesworth deal doesnt work out then maybe bring back Gerard Warren. im sure Al Davis will be firing him also. he was good here until Bates took over at D-coordinator.
