sorry annoying but it's "temper" your excitement. but agree on cutler, and i'll admit, while he may never carry a team on his back like elway (how many can?), i think he's going to rewrite every bronco QB statistical record. i love his unflappable demeanor even more than i loved plummer's total selflessness. on a more sour note, i've never seen an offensive lineman have such severe brain farts and completely whiff at random times as kuper (both last year and this year). dj williams looks awesome, and niko looks slooooow.

For me - one of the major pluses about this season is that the play of Jay Cutler will be a non-issue. There's no jittery feeling or wondering if the kid will ever make it - Lineheart?

The Broncos are playoff bound in 2008? You're sure about that Kyle? Is that an official prediction?

But yeah, I agree that Cutler looked good out there Saturday. Week 2 could be a very interesting game.

At the worst Torain goes on IR. We pay him either way, since we'd have to give him an injury settlement, and IR means that he could get a shot next year. So Torain may not make the 53 man squad, but I don't think he gets cut.

About the cuts. Three months is a long time to wait for a player to return to the field. I know that Shanny wants to keep Torain, he thinks he is the future #1 RB. A lot will depend on how it plays out between Pittman and Sapp. Both are really RBs playing FB. Both block OK, not the best. Pittman has the advantage of catching the ball, Sapp advantage is youth. If Shanny can feal secure in having a third RB behind Young and Hall who can also play FB, then he might just chance of keeping Torain on the active squad and not put him on IR. IR means he would be done for the season IMHO one of the two, Pittman or Sapp will be released. He is going to take a gamble and keep Alridge as the alternate RB and have a special package of plays just for him. A little small, yes, but you can't teach his speed and open field running. He is also good at catching the Football. So here is my take. Young, Hall, Torain, Alridge, Hillis and Pittman. Total of six.

I share your enthusiasm. The main thing I took away from the game is where the hell do I rank Selven Young in fantasy value now? Looks as though he will be splitting carries at best.

I must say Cutler is even better than I though he would be ,one thing I liked was his work ethic. Shanny said it from the beginning this guy lives to play football. he finally has a QB that can take us deep in the playoffs.Jay is something special and I love royal this guy just makes plays. It's going to be fun watching them from years to come.

I understand your excitement Kyle. What intrigues me about last night's game was how much it resembled the preseason games in the 1998 season when Elway and the boys were starting it up after beating Green Bay in the SB. I'm not saying we're that good now, just that they came out with the same tempo, timing, and confidence. For a young team this game could be big for team chemistry, or they could fail to show up friday against Green Bay and yesterday's game means nothing. I agree that Cutler is going to kick butt this season. He is the quarterback Shanahan has needed to return to the top, and this is his 3rd go 'round.

Joe...Don't buy your tickets just yet????? We still have major MLB/OLB concerns, WR concerns, and RB concerns. Not to mention the #2 QB situation.

I don't think Pittman makes this team. I think he gets cut along w/Ekcban/McKinley this week, as we as we peal away the rimnance of what once was an older/experienced team, into a team of young, hungry, aggressive warriors who don't know anything but 110mph every play.

God, don't you just love some of the new players...Woodyard/Larsen/Hillis/Royal/Williams/Aldridge/Clady/ Barrett/Clemons/Harris as the "New Kids On The Block"? Too damn bad aboutTorain, he WOULD have been the #1 RB, I would guarantee that!

Anyway, great job Broncos! You've got our attention, now take us to the promised land! Again!
