Marcus Thomas - Flozell Adams

FIGHT! Today’s headlines from the Broncos and Cowboys 2nd morning practice include a brawl between the teams, Nate Webster showing steps in becoming a leader, and plays made on both sides during team drills.

CBS4 Denver

During a team drill, defensive tackle Marcus Thomas burst into the Cowboys backfield and stopped the running back for a loss.

That led to a shoving match and a moment later Cowboys offensive tackle Flozell Adams ripped off Thomas’ helmet and swung it like a club.

Instantly, all the players on the field and on the sideline plus all the coaches rushed in to break up the fight. The mob weaved and forth for a few seconds and then the two teams separated.

Both teams got caught up in the scuffle, some shoves and words were exchanged, but cooler heads prevailed. Nate Webster made sure that the Cowboys were reminded of their frustrations, yelling, “defense” as the teams separated. A few plays later Webster literally reminded the Cowboys of their offensive stuggles, laying a devastating hit on a Cowboys receiver as he attempted to make a grab along the sideline.

Then the hit of the day… Nate Freaking Webster just destroyed a Cowboys receiver or running back. Couldn’t tell which as he was buried three feet into the ground. The crack was LOUD and once again you could hear the chants of DeeeeeeFENSE! “I see you 58” was coming from the Cowboys players.

Dre Bly

Dallas Morning News

In the first six plays of team period, Tony Romo went 0-for-3. His first two incompletions appear to come on mixups with Jason Witten and Terrell Owens down the field, and his third was intercepted by cornerback Dre Bly after another miscommunication with Owens.

The (Cowboys) fullbacks really stood out in this (9 on 7) drill. Ronnie Cruz had a great pop on Wesley Woodyard. One Broncos safety bounced right off Keon Lattimore. Deon Anderson smashed into Marquand Manuel for a great pop. Cruz came back with the best hit of the drill — from the fullback’s point of view — by ramming into Jordan Beck.

You do not screw with Nate Websters helmet. You just don’t do it. That thing is a sentient being. It will kill you and everyone you care about.

You need to save that and re-post it for tomorrow’s create-a-caption, nudge nudge wink wink.

Hahaha agreed. No one will beat that quote.

Sounds like Nat is getting fitted for that starting position. I hope it’s not all just fluff. Since some of it comes from Dallas, it looking real: nice! Now if they can just get him an fracking helmet that stays on.

Too bad it was Thomas’ helmet. Oh well.

Finally some freakn fire under these guys butts. Hopefully it carries over into the regular season!
