You know, Football Outsiders ranked Selvin Young #20 in DPAR last year. He’s #17 in DVOA but only #40 in success rate — but that was endemic to the team, not just a single running back (we had a horrible, *horrible* success rate for runs up the middle due to our O-Line being, uh, what’s the announcer phrase? Oh yes, banged up)

I trust those statistics a whole helluva lot more than some random ESPN writer who doesn’t care.

This is just fine with Selvin. It is all the more motivation for him to perform.

Yeah i like how they rank the Rooks without them ever playing a snap in the NFL but for Young they state “it remains to be seen how well he can handle the pounding with more playing time” lol at least he’s had some playing time

i’d rather have him at 60 and let him slip in under the radar. Lot of that going on with the current roster – low profile + hopefully a big impact.

Last thing we need is every co-ordinator we face scheming for him. I bet all the Vikings opponents this year have been studying AP all the off season.

I disagree with you on Adrian Peterson, but agree on the rest. That kid will be the premier back on the league for years if he can stay healthy.
