I cant believe the USA Today gave us a D+. I really feel proud of our draft class. I didnt know anything about Torain but the more i hear the more i like. Also the FB from Arkansas sounds really good. I would have liked to draft Couto with that pick but maybe this guy can offer some insight on McFadden since we will eventually have to face him. I do agree that we might have too many WRs but i personally (VT Fan) liked the Royal pick. Also i think that Carlton Powell could be good for us.
And screw Mel Kiper too. Has basically only good things to say, yet gives a C+.
um we take a center when we have the best, pass up 2 awesome WR/return guys for a o.k. Returner. dont go for a single LB worth mentioning, and did nothing to help our crappy performance we gave AGIANST the run last year, this draft =F-
There is certainly a lot of whining on Bronco related websites and that includes Mel. What was interesting about some of the scouting reports on our draft choices is that it mentioned they had a “mean streak.” We haven’t had that since the superbowl years and if we can get mean without the Romanowski unsportman like stuff, that is great. The reports also said that our guys were all very athletic. Much better than soft and fat which seemed to describe last year’s team. “Expert” grading of our draft has no meaning. We did take a linebacker and he was one of the players described as having a mean streak.
Mel We build a offensive line that can protect and make holes. We get a WR/KR that looks like Steve Smith in his prime (4.39 at the combine). We added WR’s, ILB, and a 12 sack defensive lineman in free agency. And we add a full back that blocked for Felix Jones and Darren McFadden through the draft as well.
The picks may not be sexy, but the free agency and draft picks addressed everything we lacked last year.

Ryan Clady will be a bust. It’s a joke when as soon as you draft a guy in the first round NFL network starts showing about 5 clips of him getting beat by small three man fronts of Hawaii and UW. WEAK. What a waste of a pick. We should have taken Mendenhal. We should have traded down and picked up Mendenhal and Chris Williams from Vanderbilt.
