I had not heard that anyone in the Broncos organization was thinking that Wilson would NOT be re-signed in 2004. Shanahan talked at the end of that season like he was confident that he would be able to re-sign Wilson. And since they did, I'm surprised to hear that until Gold was injured they were thinking about letting Big Al go.
