Broncos @ Colts Second Half Open Thread

Broncos 20, Colts 28 (Third Quarter)

Travis Henry is sitting out and is questionable to return after a sprained ankle.

  • I definitely think it's too early to fire Bates. I think most people don't realize that replacing an entire Defensive coaching staff (or most of the key coaches anyway) and having those coaches change up the fundamental way that our team plays Defense will take some time to develop.

    With that said, we need to find a way to make that happen with in the next few games or we can kiss the playoffs good-bye for this year.

    I don't want to do that, so I'm hoping we can man-handle SD like KC did this week.
  • Q4 - Manning takes a knee three times and Denver is now 2-2. Not only that, but Henry limping off the field is not a good thing...

    and if its too early to fire bates, then we may as well give up on this season, every team we have played has killed us running the ball. Shannahan signed players like rice, to win now. not wait for a few years to win

    gold has never been solid. he comes and goes depending on the game. he is the size of a small safety, that tries to tackle like he is 6 3 250
  • Q4 - 1:57: Cutler is hit by Freeney and the ball is knocked loose. Indy recovers.
  • Q4 - 2:03: Cutler and Young moving the ball.
  • Q4 - 2:34: FG makes it an 18 point lead. 20-38.
  • Odd that Bates BENCHED Gordon. I would have liked to see him in the rotation... Adams could stay on the bench however.
  • Q4 - 3:41: Indy has brought the running game back into balance as they now have 175 yards rushing vs Denver's 199. Still on the move and now on Denver's 9 yard line.
  • It's too early to fire Bates, and Gold has been a solid player for years.
  • Q4 - 5:35: Manning still keeping it alive. Indy is running and passing with almost no resistance from DEN.

  • Q4 - 7:43: Manning is moving the ball on us like he's cutting butter. :(
  • Q4 - 8:40: If we want the win, the Defense HAS to make this a quick possession by Manning.
  • Q4 - 8:40: Broncos are forced to punt. Colts are putting pressure on Cutler and it's causing him to be slightly off.

    Todd's kick is good and long (touchback). Manning will get it at the 20.
  • But the offense can't stay ON the field on 3rd down.
  • Q4 - 10:46: Henry's back in and gains 12. However, Cutler seems like he might be hurt. He's still in the game, but looks like his leg (maybe ankle) is bothering him.
  • We can't get our defense off the field on 3rd down. :/
  • Q4 - 10:56: Wayne catches it for a TD. 20-35.

    Now, it's time to unleash The Kid... We need at least 2 TD's in ten minutes. Let's roll.
  • Q4 12:45: RB Keith replacing Addai (injured) breaking off long runs makes it to nearly the goal line...
  • Q4 - 13:48: Clark just burnt us for 27 yards... :(
  • Q4: 13:52: Big 3rd and 3... Need a stop!
  • Q4 - 14:23: What happened? Addai is cutting through our line now. He's up to +130 yards rushing for the game. We gotta stop that.
  • Q3 - 1:10: GREAT kick off coverage that time! :)
  • Q3 - 1:10: Cutler sneak - TD! That's the way we do it! Control the clock and run the ball. Now, let's not blow the kick off coverage this time! 20-28
  • Q3 - 2:13: Young gets to the 2 yard line.... come on guys!
  • Red zone... time to put it in! Selvin Young at the two...
  • Q3 - 3:28: Stokley makes the catch and moves the chains!
  • 3Q - 3:50: Another BIG 3rd down...
  • Oh boy. Henry hurt is bad.
  • Q3 - 4:50: Good Graham catch for a 1st down! :) Keep it going!
  • Q3 - 6:33: Denver seems to be moving the ball well. Cutler seems to be calming down.
  • 3Q - 8:55: Another TD by Manning and Company. 13-28

    Ok, we’re down by two Touchdowns. However, we need to get back to our game plan of clock control. Let’s get it done on the ground so it will open up Marshall and the gang after the Defense is worn down by Henry…
  • Henry is being attended to... cross your fingers folks, this sounds scary...
  • 3Q - 10:58: INT on Denver’s 24 yardline. Indy’s Marlin Jackson grabs a Cutler pass to give Manning another shot at the end zone… I screamed to loud I think I’ve damaged my thoat. :(
  • 3Q - 11:46: Indy TD. They made it look easy. :(

    Addai is over 100 yards now too. 13-21
  • Let's get some offense going to match the Colts. Nice first down, let's keep this drive going.
  • First play of the 2nd half: Our D-line got dominated on that first play. That's embarassing. We can NOT have that kind of domination.
